Xbox 360 Hard Drive Failure

I bought an Xbox 360 in my younger years. I got about 6 months out of it before the hard drive stopped remembering save files. I know this was probably not the norm. I probably should have contacted because I would still have been under the warantee. I formatted the drive back then to see if that would fix the issue but it kept forgetting save files even after the formats. Not all bad memories, though. I completed Red Dead Redemption before I had the issue. Hats off to Rockstar for that, mostly chill, game. Still have the Xbox in a drawer here. Probably should buy a new hard drive but at this stage, I probably won't bother.
Just thought I'd share that with you fine folk.

you should've told the 360 as firmLy as possible, "HOW WOULD *YOU* LIKE IT IF I DIDN'T REMEMBER *YOUR* SAVE-FILES?!?!!" then after takin turns cryin, a handshake that lasts 9 min too long, n a cheesy, obligatory 80's montage - things would've surely been made right.

thanks for sharin though. sorry the damn thing was defective - otherwise a solid console. did you ever try to binge-finish one for fear your savegame would end up disappearin? I back up Steam saves whenever possible due to a smaLLer case of this precisely... also sometimes the SD cards I use with meh Deck like to play 'let's inexplicably deLete prnzo's games randomLy! Season 6'

Well, I wasn't going to try to binge finish Fallout 3. I enjoyed a bit of Forza 2 before things went pear-shaped. Bought the Mass Effect game, probably because of the hype, but that went back in the box pretty quick. I remember finishing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Divinity 2 beforehand, so I didn't get off too badly.
