Would you still play a game if you knew it had a low review score?

Yes if the game looks fun to me or intressting to me I would play it. I mean in the end it´s about if I enjoy it not if others do or not. People love to shit on Fallout 76 I love it and have fun playing it.

ill just add my two cents to this but, generally a "review" can only say so much especially in terms of numbers on it (hell a ps1 game could have a low review but is extremely appreciated now a days and liked even) but there have been times that even on modern games those reviews seemed fake or bought off in some way like "give a high review and youll get a good sum of money" :p

either way bad game, good game, shit review or not it can still be enjoyable in some way unless its seriously "BAD" (people behind the game, game story and so on) but the best kind of opinion someone could have on a game is by trying it out themself

Long answer
It depends. Sometimes I feel attracted to a game only because I've seen some screenshot (happened with "Caligula Effect" on Vita and "Gungnir" on PSP): I immediately decided to buy them, I did, I didn't regret it. Sometimes I carefully read many reviews and watch many gameplay/longplay videos without caring for spoilers, sometimes I'm okay with the comments and I think "okay I'll pass on this one", sometimes I still like what I see and I decide to play it anyway. Sometimes (like with "Assassin's Creed Chronicles Russia") I felt quite attracted by the gameplay and graphics, I kept on reading low-score reviews and more I read more I wanted to play it... and I bought the whole collection on Vita on physical, and I've been happy with all three titles (China-India-Russia), so I'm happy I followed my nose instead of reviews.

Short answer
It depends from game to game.
