I actually quite liked that Persona 4 song! (even though I was in that dungeon for a while)
My pitch for worst video game song comes from a recent game that I thought had an absolutely wonderful soundtrack- ENA: Dream BBQ!!! Give it a shot if you like outsider art!
Either way, I think they went out of their way to make an unsettling song here and they totally did it, but it doesn't mean I like it!

But the absolute worst of all comes from an offensive spoof hack of Double Dragon where Billy and Jimmy are transgender.

I think the worst thing about this is how it almost sounds halfway-decent before they do that thing where the note just drops lower and lower, out of pitch and off-scale with no harmony whatsoever to make it up to the rest of the song. The entire thing sounds so off-key and yet doesn't match or carry the melody in any way. It's kind of astounding how a music piece can  be so bad.

this one always stuck out to me because it's credited to the same composer as Turok 1, which was pretty great or inoffensive at worst. and while this one starts off pretty dull, it hard swerves at about 1:52 into little more than noise with every instrument just blaring off aimlessly. all this in a swamp level of course brings it down further

Honestly most of video game sound design back on the NES and what not wasn't really that good it's just technical limitations.

And that goes for soundtrack too nothing too good or inspiring on the NES most of it sound too "010101010" they tried but nothing decent came out i mean have you heard how FF1 NES and FF1 PS1 music? The NES sounds so damn primitive like there is barely anything BUT again it's not the people fault it's the technology they had to work with that prevented them , check out FF1 PS1 version and the entire soundtrack is actually decent!

I say it's only around the SNES things started to get good and that includes music the NES was far too primitive in everything.
