Exactly what it says on the title. Here's my picks:

Now Pit-Fighter is a guilty pleasure of mine on the Mega Drive alongside the Arcade version, but the SNES version just sucked. Shame the SMS got an awful version of Strider from (cough) Tiertex cause the console could do Ghouls 'n' Ghosts pretty well. Batman Forever had potential, but take some of the worst controls I've ever seen alongside awful graphics on the GG version (I know the GG could never do the 16 bit consoles justice but come on.) and it's a crockpot of shit waiting to happen. Various Emotion is probably one of the worst fighters I've played overall, just being edged out by Pit-Fighter SNES as THE worst. It's a shame cause I love SM and Angel made the actually half decent SMR Game Boy game, so WHY did they have to fuck this one up?

I've not played a lot of bad games in general (except Bioshock Infinite but thats irrelevant), certainly not older ones, but if I was to pick one out then it'd have to be Castlevania: The Adventure.

I can forgive a game being clunky or any of that stuff and I think a lot of modern gamers are a bit spoiled in how little roughness they're able to put up with, but I really think this game sucks.
It's exceptionally dull, it's ugly and none of the areas look any good. Of course it's a Gameboy game, so there is a lot of restrictions on what they could do, but the old pokemon games are fun and they were on that same handheld.
Not only that, the game just doesn't really feel good to play either, going from Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, a very overhated game in my opinion to this was such a drop in playability and fun that if it wasn't like 2 hours long I would've dropped it.
Thankfully the sequel, Belmont's Revenge is actually genuinely really good and fun.

Retro as in games from the NES to the PS1? If so then…

Super Mario Kart
Zelda 2
Urban Champion
Mario: The Lost Levels
Crash Bash
SpongeBob: Supersponge
Mario Party 1
Sonic Labrinyth
Sonic Blast
Sonic Drift
Sonic CD
The Game Boy Mega Mans

Return of Samus, probably. Both the official and unofficial remakes turn a boring, simplistic slog into a fun game. At least it's impressive they made a Metroid for the Game Boy...

Did you know that Pac-Land is older than Super Mario Bros? I have it for TurboGrafx-16 and the controls are batshit insane there too, but it's from the game's arcade roots. Whose controls were developed before SMB.

there's a LOT of crap out there
Spelunker you die from a 8 PIXEL drop! a lot can kill you in this game!
Silver surfer (you die WAY too easily it just not fun without cheats/mods)
ninja turtles 1 NES
Zelda 2 (i wish i can say it's the worst zelda game, but phillips CDI games exist...)
castlevania simons curse (i bet no one will beat this with ZERO guides or internet/friend help)
Mario is missing (its like a worse version of carmen sandeigo)
Ghostbusters NES

Any of Sonic the hedgehog games. Worst systemsellers possible.
And it's not even ironically
a lot were pretty bad, anything on gamegear (very bad speed and display too zoomed),
secret rings, (motion controls never make a game better, and this is prob the worst 3d sonic game)
unleashed (the werehog parts ruin it for me, and chip), superstars managed to ruin 4 player co-op in ways i've never seen a game ruin co-op before.
and the absolute worst sonic game, dark brotherhood, a turn based RPG in sonic and its SO SLOW.

Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars is about the worst pure platformer game I can think of. A truly dreadful title that boasts cheap, twee looking visuals and controls that are so simplistic as to remove any real sense of spontaneity or excitement from the act of playing it. It doesn't help that the game expects you to run it back again after beating all of its stages for marginal differences.

I feel like bootlegs are cheating for this sort of thing but I would like to highlight Dragon Bowl, an unofficial flip of the arcade Ninja Gaiden that released in 1992. It replaces all the sprites and visual assets of that game with loosely Dragon Ball-related assets.

It's about as fun as it looks...Which is to say, not very.
