I don't really have a horse in this race since I'm not super invested in GG, and it's an alright design on its own, but it doesn't have nearly as much personality or pizzazz as:

Looks the same really just new boots for dissidia and some hair coloring he did at the barber , he still has the shoulder pad and same hair style Idk whats so distinct here...

Less a redesign and more a shift in attitude and tone. He didn't become emo/mopey cloud until all of the spin-offs and sequels, and that is reflected in the new design.

i am kind of surprised at this inclusion of cloud strife - the first image you posted was of his redesign in the final fantasy spinoff fighting game, dissidia, which is already a pretty strong stylistic departure from cloud's original design and art direction

I hate the realistic look, I picked the dissidia cloud because I dont mind that they based it off that version; but I dont like the colors, the smaller eyes, smaller hair, just the realistic look of the remake in general

Tbh , It leans more into the Castlevania Chronicles design which is a nice refference . While the design has its coolness , its still not fitting with Castlevania somehow .

But i get Galerians vibes from Simon "Its not a Phase , mom " Belmont . The design would be great for an different IP that has an gothic setting too but leans more in a drastic direction instead of castlevanias more eloquent design of gothic-horror .
If someone is an indie-dev or comic-creator , TAKE THIS DESIGN APPROACH AND MAKE SOMETHING AWESOME WITH IT ! COUNT ME IN AS YOUR FIRST FAN OF IT !

I still really like Alex from Street Fighter, but I found his SFV design above to be weaker than his SF3 one in practically all regards:
