This can apply to any patch that is not good, either through grammar, faithfulness to the source writing, or formatting. For me, one of the early Fire Emblem Gaiden translations sticks out as really, really hard to read in how it was programmed.

Beyond the Labyrinth for 3DS has such a horrific translation, not because of errors but because of the translation decisions by the people who did it fucked up the vibe of the game completely, it was like it was made by an edgy 12 year old trying their best at being offensive. And worse is how for a long time i didn't saw anyone criticizing it because of that "hey man, at least he did something and you did nothing. Can you do better?" mentality.

I assumed that was the vibe of the game…

For fan translations and by process of elimination, the (original) Princess Crown patch. The original text patch had letters that were too big, overlapped on each other and made it a nightmare to actually read. I'll get to playing the newer patch one day.

  • The spanish fan translations for BoF 1 and 2, they have both the issues of the official english translations and they add more issues
  • The official FFVII spanish translation although theres luckily a patch that fixes it

The Dragon Quest 1+2 english patch really irked me because of a glitch in DQ2 that completely broke my save file. There's a patch that fixes the bug but it only applies to the version that uses the Japanese names, and I honestly prefer the western names.

I'm also not a big fan of the Tales of Phantasia SNES translation.

I'm currently playing the English patch of EX Troopers and it's, well, not good. It's total nonsense most of the time lol. But I'm thankful to the translators because they let me play this fantastic game. And the story's not important. It's so basic that you can understand it if you've read a shounen manga before.

Rockman & Forte English patch.

The spanish final fantasy adventure translation by the group called paladin knights reads like it was made by a monkey
