Will chatter and discussion come back?

Hey,
It's been incredibly frustrating not being able to post in General Discussion and Chatter. Those were the two forums where I was always active, and now that they're unavailable, it just feels like there's nothing interesting left. Those sections had the best conversations, and without them, everything feels so restricted and dull.


What makes it worse is the reason behind it. Some guy had to take legal action, and now we all have to suffer for it. I can’t help but feel so angry about the whole situation. It’s unfair that one person’s actions led to restrictions for everyone else. I just want to vent, but at the same time, I feel like I can’t do anything about it, which only makes the frustration build up even more.


I miss the casual conversations, the random discussions, and the fun of just talking about whatever came to mind. Now, everything feels way too serious, and it's honestly destroying the vibe of the forums.

I would have to assume not for now; Not a while, even. BUT, considering there's a thread to contribute to salvaging some of the thread's contents, maybe everyone should participate in remotely tying some threads in there to parts of the forum that can be accessed.

I'm sure we will eventually come up with something that sees the return of those boards in some capacity.

I'm already shuffling some ideas based on what I do on my own sites.

Sorry if I'm rambling a bit or if I'm coming off as aggressive or anything, because I'm not trying to. I just wanted to get a response in before I go to bed and vent a little about it I guess.​

It’s fine, I appreciate keeping it civil since I didn’t expect it. I knew my opinion was the uncommon one but I wanted to express it anyhows even though it was likely gonna displease most people here but it felt suffocating and I didn’t want to feel like you couldn’t express a different view, so I really do appreciate you keeping it tasteful and not escalating it since I wasn’t expecting such a kind and heartfelt reply. I can’t deny the past week left me in a deteriorated mental state like nothing before and made not wanna check the forums for a few days, since at the end of the day I really only want at least most people here to get along as I like the community here and really just want peace to be maintained above everything. Once again, I’m grateful for what you said. I thought I was gonna get disliked (or that people here already started to dislike me) so I felt trying to take my mind off of things would be ideal until forums calmed down a bit. We’ve an incredible team here, so I don’t think a brief absence would harm the community. That’s all I have to say for now. This was a great conversation.

I don't think I'd ever dislike ya just for disagreeing on stuff. I've always kinda felt like that's a really silly reason to dislike someone anyway, nobody agrees on everything. Glad that the situation's fixed now either way though. ​

What does one have to do to engage in the general and chatter boards?

They were removed for a day or two, and we didn't know if they would come back.
They're back now though, just with the added requirements.

Those sections were temporarily closed due to some, let's just say, unpleasantness taking place within. They have since been restored.

As to what you have to do to post in them...

"Requirements: Be a member for at least 30 days, at least level 2 and have no active warnings".

Well, you actually only need 30 days, regardless of level, but still, would be a... concept problem
