What are some off the wall, just kind of crazy or wild ideas for games have you ever had?

Lately I've been thinking of the idea of some kind management sim set in the world of pokemon.

But probably not in the way you're thinking. See I figure in the pokemon world, humans being humans, a lot of technology was probably replaced by just enslaving pokemon to do the job. So like, instead of airlines just a fleet of some kind of flying pokemon. Instead of powerplants a bunch of voltorbs or something.

So I was thinking some kind of of industrial or logistical management sim where you're managing different pokemon that run different industrial processes in a facility or some kind of transport/business tycoon type thing, but with pokemon. I feel like there could be some potential.

You could balance between having harder to control but more productive pokemon vs easier to manage but less productive ones. You'd obviously have to consider the upkeep and needs of the pokemon. Different species could have different requirements, things like that. You could unexpected chaotic events occur. I feel like there's a lot of potential for some really creative applications of this idea.

I had a dream the other night that there was an open world Winnie the Pooh game, but the graphics were all FMV and the characters were like people in mascot suits.

like the old Disney Channel show?

I've been contemplating learning some SMS programming so I can create my own homebrew games for the Master System/Game Gear.

I wanted to really push the hardware a bit considering it has a lot of decent capabilities, and I know there are a couple of genres that coule have really done with some love on the platform, so my two ideas are:

1 - A Horror Adventure Game

Adventure game in the point and click sense. Basically, after seeing the detail you can achieve on a Master System I thought that it would be really interesting to see if we can pull of something Clock Tower-esque. Would probably feature a lot of high-res pixel art of gory/horrific situations as I can't imagine what other stricks you could use to creep someone out on a Master System.

2 - Monster-Capturing RPG

I've recently come around to the idea of the SMS being an RPG power-house when it comes to 8-bit games, but I also know that there's a ton of untapped potential here. I'd love to make a SEGA-themed monster hunting RPG. Think pokemon but some of the creatures that you can capture would be references to various sega characters (i.e. one of them is a flicky that evolves into like billy hatcher or w/e) Woudl deffo be toungue in cheek and full of fan-based meta jokes.

WW2 shooter where committing war crimes and atrocities are part of the game and determine the player ending the more evil actions you do the more likely you lose a leg an eye or an arm or straight up die.

You will play through all nations axis or allies even the Chinese an the Japanese you will get to do some very nasty stuff against helpless people , at one point in the German campaign you will be regulated to guarding a camp of captured jews you can partake in the holocaust or you can refuse the offer the way it can be that when they turn up the ovens or whatever you happen to be present having been good friends with the officer in charge he asks you to turn one of those gas chambers on if you accept you will be killed later either by freed prisoners beating you to death or while defending the riechstag if you deny the officer will try with you 2 more times this is to push those players who have the urge but still don't want to act on it just to give them a last tease see if they give up , if you refuse anyway the prisoners will spare you and a good chance you get to live but if you committed crimes while fighting in the soviet union or anywhere else you might lose a limb.

Basically i want to make it so that the player is given the freedom of choice being able to decide what to do with this helpless human being you have a weapon you are physically strong what will you do to a human of lesser capabilities than you? Will you shoot them? Assault them? There are no consequences or so i would like you to think since who will punish you? High command? Well they don't care as long as you are on the winning side.

It's a series of decisions that require the player to think about their own definition of humanity and mercy i like to believe that what you do in a virtual world has a good chance to translate one way or another into real life so whatever you do in this game brings out your unfiltered self because this game will have no filters.

Of course a project of this magnitude not only requires vision but also a vast knowledge of WW2 stuff and a massive team of developers i want interviews with victims of war crimes and more i want to know what these soldiers who did it thought and how they behaved and how they justified it.

The boldness of this project is also why it can never come to light it will be too controversial and not in a good way.

That idea is awesome, like running a business powered entirely by Pokémon. Flying types as airlines, Voltorbs as energy sources… total chaos but super fun. Managing their moods, productivity, and random disasters? I’d play that lol.

I though of a pokemon job simulator in an open world. You are isekai'd into the pokemon world but instead of being a trainer you are a photographer, a researcher, a farmer, a doctor or jobs that you see in the games but never play as.

You experience multiple sims in a living ecosystem of Pokemon.

A first-person Hexen-style RPG action shooter about an executioner that has to travel to the 1970's to kill the resurrected demonized soul of his wife he was forced to execute for committing adultery.

I imagine this in the style of Black Sabbath's Paranoid album, and the main idea of the game is to take Hexen's gameplay but translate it over to a city setting.

I kind of want a game where your actions reflect the color pallete: the more "good" things you do, the warmer the colors and lighting; the more "bad" stuff you pull, the darker and colder everything gets. Ideally, you would want to keep it neutral so you get the best possible visuals, a sort of sharp grey with really beautiful contrasts.

Hm what about a Game where you Play as a Dude that travels from Planet to Planet Building Zoos with Different Alien Animals with a Included Dating Sim with Alien Woman, where you also have to focus on the Environment and different laws on different Planets and where you walk around yourself in first person or via Bird View.
Not the Best Idea right and I just came up with it on the spot ::cirnoshrug
