I was so hyped when I heard WA4 will be re-released on PS Store, because the USA/EUR version of PS2 release is bugged and there's no way to 100% it (a reason I have never played this game), but looks like it is single audio (English dubbed) only. Only the Japanese version has Japanese voices - and the text is of course only in Japanese too. Kinda sucky practice in 2026, but maybe someone will make an undub for it eventually... No idea if they fixed the bugs though, but it should be kinda stupid not to. Any thoughts about this?

The game Otogirisou Soseihen is very interesting game and it was the first horror game I bought for PS1.

But regarding Wild Arms 4, I believe the glitch the game has is skippable if you change from 50Hz to 60Hz, then back to 50Hz until you're done.

I don't remember exactly where the problem occurred, but I know a friend could bypass it by doing that and completed the game. I only played the japanese version because I just could not stand the english dubs, but I never experienced any glitch, so I can't help further.

It doesn't really fix the problems, so you'll still have those problems like the 2nd opening. I wonder if they have a trophy for 100% completion on the monster encyclopedia? You really can't get it too 100% since XSEED fucked that up on the localization. ::thinking

I wonder if the REPO has the game with the fixed opening 2?

Hopefully they can patch the bugs in the game if people are loud enough about it.

It is. The soundtrack is brilliant. Kinda funny REPO still doesn't have Sosei Hen..

But back to WA4. Yes, the "bug" I am talking about is the removal of two monsters so the encyclopedia can't be filled completely. :/ I 'm also aware of 50/60Hz bug. Wondering if the re-release fixed these, they really should, they couldn't have been so lazy to just slap the game in as is.. Who am I kidding, they might have done just that. Sigh.

Yeah, it is. Anyways, you can enjoy the original Otogirisou as it is present in the repo. Curious enough, Kamaitachi no Yoru is also there, another game that I like. Chunsoft was one of my favourite companies from the 90's and 2000's, thanks to Dragon Quest, but when it became Spike Chunsoft I felt some magic was gone. Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls and 428 Fuusa sareta Shibuya de are my favourite games from them, but that's it.

I see. At least it is not a gameplay issue that renders the game unplayable. It might have a cheat to fill the monster encyclopedia so it can be used when those 2 monsters are missing.

But yeah, paying for a game with bugs is not right, although that is the norm since patches were the way of developing videogames on the run. People is usually ok with games that are patched afterwards to fix the issues, but I am not, I want them to be native within the disc to be completely online independent.

Well, I love Spike-Chunsoft too. For Nintendo Switch/2 I have bought almost every game they have released so far. :D 428 truly is a magical game, it's the second platinum trophy I ever got.

And yes, Wild ARMs 5 (undub version) is the pinnacle of WA, don't forget XF though, it's a good game even though its localisation was also botched a bit - lots of muted dialogue, and theme songs changed.. but at least it has Japanese voices as well as English and it's very playable. I also played WA3 just yesterday on PS4 but the battles are kinda drag in nowadays' eyes. Maybe I just play it on emulator (PS2), so I can use the turbo speed (goddess praise be the emulators). :)

My favourite is the original Wild Arms, I still remember its wonderful OST. That's why I also consider Alter Code F as my second favourite, because I liked how they did the remake.

I was really surprised of the release of XF though, as the saga was not in a good shape at that time.

But I might be the uncommon one, because the Million Memories was a lot of fun. It was one of the very few mobile games I've ever played and the one I enjoyed most because it had 2 things I consider basic in a mobile game: main story characters are obtainable through the story progression and they are part of the strongest rooster, and stamina was kind of "unlimited". It was hard to consume and easy to replenish through easily obtainable items, so you could keep playing for hours as long as long as you knew a little bit the mechanics.

Many people didn't like it, and I really feel sad its service ended so prematurily, the only one thing I didn't like is that it was not possible to play co-op with a friend, as the game was heavily based on your CPU partner to complete the missions. Swapping the CPU for your friend would have been an easy thing for the programmers.
