Or an USB Sensor Bar should suffice with Dolphin for actual Wiimote emulation (using a real one)?

PS: Are Wiimotes with the Motion Plus compatible? What about the Motion Plus separately?

Any sensor bar will work, it’s just two IR LEDs. Two candles will work. Also yes, motionplus works too, both built in and the add-ons.

(A bit more in depth: the actual sensors are all on the Wiimote itself. “Sensor” bars are actually not sensors at all, they just put out two points of infrared light that the sensors on the Wiimote track. Because they’re just looking for two points of IR light, you can place two candles ~a foot apart and a Wiimote will see them as a sensor bar.)

I use a DolphinBar, so I can't say from experience with other sensor bard, but I've been looking into getting a cheaper alternative as a backup and it seems that other USB sensor bars should work. There's an "Aokin USB Sensor bar for Wii" on Amazon for 10 bucks, and according to one of the top reviews it works fine with Dolphin.

I can confirm the Motion+ controller works, I got one to play Skyward Sword. I'm not sure if the separate Motion+ upgrade on a standard Wiimote works with Dolphin, though (if that's what you meant by "separately").

If you want to have a 1:1 playable experience with the wiimotes through emulation, well, yes, but that accessory is difficult to get depending on the technology store you find, so it is only possible to buy the DolphinBar through online stores. Because in my country it is impossible to get the DolphinBar accessory even if there are a lot of technology stores (especially the mobile stores that sell phones that are everywhere).

I mean, I use part of my controller and my mouse to emulate a wiimote so Idk if you'd be open to that but it's a great alternative til you get one.
I've tried several configs and while the mouse could be used as a pointer for rail shooters (Sin & Punishment Star Successor) I think that it's not the most convenient nor the most authentic way to enjoy Wii games.

Yeah, I kinda like the feeling of the wiimote and having to actually move it.

If you have the means to then absolutely. I love mine. I've played games through Dolphin that I never got to as a kid, and replaying Super Paper Mario for the 69th time was worth it alone.

If you can't get one. I'd imagine any usb sensor bar would work.

One option I've done is a switch pro controller. It's a little tricky to set up, but I've played quite a few Wii games that way. Zack and Wiki in particular works well, which is one of the most difficult ones out there.
