My boss texted me this morning about how they're all looking forward to me making my return to the area and coming back to work, with one of the corporate people telling the main guy I'll be working with that, "this will be the best thing that ever happened to you" and she hugged him. That was kind of a nice thing to wake up to.
aw

Honestly I started this day badly cause valentine's day and stuff but through self-reflection I became aware of my growth so I felt better after

Anyway what are some tips to meet new people
I have crippling Schizophrenia. I decided to take the leap and try and meet new people by creating and engaging in the retrogametalk forums. I've met lots of interesting and funny people. I can be more honest with who I am here- get myself out, since I hardly leave my house. It's been helping.

I'm glad that helps man, I hope it gets better from now on!
Happiness is just an illusion
I don't mind this kind of illusion

I've gained self-confidence when it came to just talking to people. Took a while but I got there. Still, that's some incredible advice, as people need to learn that they matter just as much.

Anyway, I'm 29... my school days are way over lol. I also seek a home office kind of career so loneliness is a given.

Sometimes I feel like taking casual acting classes for the sake of interacting with new people or something like that. I am afraid of taking that step out of fear of wasting my time but just typing it here makes it easier I guess.
Trying new stuff definitely helps with your situation. Another thing people overplay is how you gotta be super duper interesting with everything to s-
You don't, you can be the most mundane person ever and it won't affect anything. Having the gift of gab is a double edged sword because the key is to sit there and listen instead of making it all about yourself. Ask questions, but don't interview. You can literally be polar opposites but still become friends. I'm a video game dude who plays hundred of video games for fun and a lot of my friends are people who aren't as well versed/don't care about them. Though if you worry about not having much to talk about despite this, never hurts to pursue/pick a new hobby to add to the mix. Can't really use myself as an example for that because I swam, played lacrosse, took soccer classes, a few art programs, etc when I was younger, but my new hobbies do include playing piano with the portable keyboard I got as a gift from a family member when I want to and playing taiko drums via a club. Try everything, even the weird shit you would've never thought to.

No nihilism on my watch!
Whatever's got you depressed is temporary, go do what makes you happy

I did felt the need to overcompensate at some point. I'm glad I'm leaving that behind now, reading that helps too

I came to learn that too. Turns out not everyone needs to be a nerd for you to talk to, you can talk about dogs or life stuff and etc. It can be very interesting.

Also I'd like to add that the peer pressure that begins in early teenager years makes you think that the opposite gender is some kind of alien. Thankfully I feel like I've fully eliminated that too. I got a visual novel to thank that lol

Me and the aliens showing up to the function (they're just women who like MLP and sports)

Thankfully, I was a social butterfly up until high school so I never had to deal with that mindset ever.

I've done some gardening, made a nice meal, had a shower and still have a week off work to gain some coding skills and play some games. ?
