I'm considering getting that one (it has some interesting balance changes) but with Monster Hunter Wilds coming out next month it would be a hard ask to choose a Vita remaster over a new generation Monster Hunter game, for me. That said, if there is interest here, it would make me reconsider and get FWR to play with you guys.

I have been thinking the same thing, it looks like a fun game, i myself never actually played freedom wars, does it play similar to a game like God eater?

is there anything new in the freedom wars remastered version, or is it the same game with better graphics.
They changed the crafting system to allow you remove installed modules from weapons (if I remember right you'd need to start the crafting chain again from the start if you wanted to install different modules).

There are new difficulty modes and all the DLC is integrated.

Yeah there are similarities to God Eater.

i think i remember people saying the combat system was similar to monster hunter; or it might have been god eater. its been years since i played the game.

any word on if they added to the story. i didn't like how it just ended so abruptly.

MH has quite a different feel (even the modern ones), it feels a lot more weighty. Freedom Wars is on the lighter, more acrobatic side, along with GE.

Another important change on the Remaster apparently is that you can interrupt attack chains with the thorn tool. Not sure how impactful that will ultimately be, but it's there. The crafting change is probably the most useful change.

hopefully the story is expanded on in the remaster. i was doing research on the wikis for weapon and item info and i learned about the background of that planet earth. it was pretty metal.

That's cool to know, I'll have to seriously consider getting it. Imagine if somehow I manage to scrounge up a group among us forumers for this thing.
Will it have cross-play? If not, what's stopping us from just downloading the ROM and playing the OG on an emulator with a spoofed server?
I don't know... I think everyone here knows how I feel about remaster, making a thread and everything...

Buying it the next month. So if anyone wants to play on PC here I am. I would also going to get all achivements so I someone needs help with the online farming, again here I am to help 😎.

That's great to hear! I won't be making the jump next month because MH Wilds takes precedence, but some time in the future, definitely.

Guys, when you get this game, post about it here – I could very easily be suckered into buying the PS4 version if you like it. I never played the original Freedom Wars, but it always did look kind of cool... ;)

I'm interested in the remaster but I put countless hours on the original and I might wait a while before jumping back in

The premise is very interesting, honestly, it all feels surprisingly relatable in a way. The combat (for me) is not as good as Monster Hunter's, but the overall package is very nice.

it did. there were some creepy but awesome monster robot designs, you can personalize your player character and robot companion with a lot of outfits, hair styles and colors. the environments give off a good vibe of post-apocalyptic earth. one of the things that i learned while checking on weapons and items for the game is that the government systems on the planet do not believe in wasting anything due to how scarce resources are. your robot companion is made of various recycled flesh and muscle mass from deceased citizens.

really put my robo companion in a different light after i read that.
