Either of the 2003 anime, of the manga/Brotherhood, or both.

I'm a fan of the 2003 anime, and the manga i think brotherhood wasn't good as far as the fact it was an ad for the manga and had some worse shot composition like if you look at the scene where ed's arm gets broken in the manga and the 03 anime they're very similar vs brotherhood, i also liked that the 03 anime built up more of the world and the games were considered part of anime canon ( 03 wrath was also my favorite ) and the fact that it was popular even if different from the manga is perfectly fine imo also 03's openings were more iconic tbh REWRITE was a banger, as was ready steady go, brotherhood just had Bleach OPs lmao.

Along with One Piece, and Naruto, I could never get into it. I did enjoy Bleach though to a certain arc.

I'm sitting on the fence.

I love the premise, just couldn't get into it. Kinda like with Soul Eater.

Yeah, it looked intriguing to me but I never followed up on it. I missed out on the mid 2000s era of Anime as I was in college and had less free time.

It’s incredible. It was a nice change of pace and was much heavier than all the shounen tournament anime that we were getting at the time. One of the first episodes was the guy who was so desperate to keep his fancy job that he turned his loving daughter into a chimera as an experiment. That episode has stuck with me my whole life

I only watched Brotherhood but that was awesome. I only vaguely remember it, so I should probably watch it again.
I always really liked this OP too:

I never finished the original show, only Brotherhood...Should I?

I’d say go for it. : D
You know what, I will! Just gonna finish two shows I have on queue first, the eternal backlog never stops growing.

Oh? Curious what those are.
Yeah! The backlog backpain is very real.

Currently To Heart because a fellow poster here recommended it to me and Soremachi, and then I have some stuff I watch on a stream too but that's not part of the backlog.

Both great shows ? have fun

I'm a fan of all three, but when it comes to either the manga or Brotherhood I feel that the manga is better. Brotherhood felt a bit too battle-shouneny for me. Anyway, I'm kind of a sucker for epic journeys and brotherly bonds so I'm not surprised that I enjoyed my experience with Fullmetal Alchemist.

Fan of the manga and both animes,
-2003 has an unmatched feel to it, but it strays away from the source material pretty early
-Brotherhood is the most faitful to the manga but it feels a little bland to me?
Not bad by any means, of course
-Manga is goated
-The live action movies are absolutely awful XD

Yeah I love the 2003 anime

I'm a fan of the '03 anime as well, and really liked what I read of the manga, back when I had that ol' Shounen Jump subscription!

Been meaning to circle around to Brotherhood for like a decade now, but my memories of the first iteration are fond enough that I must admit it's not suuuuper high up on my watchlist.

I also prefer '03 for several reasons although Brotherhood is good as well (but the first part rushed).

I need to actually read the manga.

Saw one read and watched the other, I like comic and brotherhood even if I wish
envys true form wasnt conputer graphics, in the comic it looked great in the show its terrible

Im a fan of Bradley

Yeah it looks jarring but budget for animation is expensive. We no longer have the smoothness of the 80's.
