Since it's the right season I wanted to talk more about one of my favourite sub-genres which is often close to horror (thanks to Resident Evil and even Jurassic Park's novel).

No need to have body horror (even if it's commonly associated with it but you can argue that MGS1 had biopunk elements while not being like RE) but you can still have a feeling of dread from genetically engineered things rather than cyberpunk machines.

What is Biopunk? More importantly you wouldn't consider BioBroly to be Biopunk would you?

I can start with BioShock for starters

A subgenre similar with cyberpunk but with genetic engineering over implants.

Maybe? I barely remember him.

One of my favourite films is Dark City (which deals with memory alteration) and my favourite game is the first BioShock. BioPunk is so underrated.

Yep, Bio Broly definitely fits the biopunk. He was a clone created by the real Broly's dna that gone wrong. He then turns into this zombie-like form (ugly as hell by the way)

Does Linda Cube count? The horrifying animals you have to catch in that game are roaming around in the wild,
but their ancestors were genetically modified as a means to fight some genetic disorder, which is why they look so grotesque.

You should check out Bioforge if you haven't already. It's a pretty interesting game if you're into action adventure stuff from the earlier days of 3D PC graphics.

It's a blend of cyberpunk and biopunk in some respects as it deals with gene-editing and biological engineering but also with some cybernetics and more mechanical things.
