I'll admit that I had a huge crush on Sakuya Kumashiro from Tenchi in Tokyo when I saw her for the first time during the show's run on Toonami and to be honest, I still love Sakuya to this very day.

Having grew up watching Durarara on Toonami, Celty always had something about her that had me intrigued the minute she first appeared. Still love her a ton to this day and it really reflects back on my taste years later.

She's royalty, and got manners unlike the others. More so, when I heard her voice in the Dub. (hey, the dub sounded good at the time when this first came out.) Unfortunately, through the years waiting for more episodes and moving on, eventually forgot about her. And that was so long ago, when VHS was still around, so few and far between.

Yep, it's Lisa / Misa, from Robotech / Macross. Nice to see her get a lot of love around here, already

Robotech changed my life as a youngster. Back when nearly all "Japanimation" I had access to was dubbed, I found her homely voice to be so comforting. Same went for Claudia, too. Glad the show made a point to illustrate how close they became as friends and colleagues.

Runner up would be The Last Unicorn. No, not the lady she transforms into, but the actual unicorn.

I am honestly taken aback by all the Misa Hayase on here?

I'm more partial to DYRL Minmay, I watched a subbed version of that as a young teenager, though I don't like Minmay in SDFM at all as she was written to be extremely selfish and bratty and I saw the first 2 episodes of SDFM as robotech when I was really young.

I'm gonna go with Sailor Mars as the earliest fictional character in anime crush that I had.

This would come with a trend of liking ENTJ female characters over the course of my life.

There's a few more across various media. Jessica from DQ 8. Haman Karn from Zeta, ZZ gundam. Even Jordan from early episodes of Scrubs when she was an actual ENTJ and not whatever the hell everyone was from season five onwards of scrubs, some variant of JD.

I met my ENTJ wife in when we were both still in school. Patterns are very real.

These crushes were based on what I would find appealing in a real life partner and formed the basis of my preferences. I studied psychology as my minor for a bit during my computer science degree. I understand how I tick. I had both computing and psychology as my main hobby for years. So yes, some times these things aren't meaningless and something comes of it. If I didn't notice a pattern to what I prefer in a partners personality, I'd be very disappointed.
