Who is your favorite author?

Neil Gaiman. When I first picked up Neverwhere, I could not put it down, and he continued to have that effect with every book of his I read.

As in Authors I actually enjoy re-reading? Not just a one & done it lives on the bookshelf to make me look smart authors?

K.A Applegate
Kathryn Lasky
Anne McCaffrey
Brian Jacques
Sergei Lukyanenko

Escapist fiction should be enjoyed, screw if they're Y.A/Fantasy Authors.
I would have added R.L Stine but I did unfortunately age out of (most) of his writings. Adaptations are fire tho, Disney+ handling of Goosebumps is shockingly enjoyable.

Chuck Palahniuk and Piers Anthony

I am confused what you mean with courage I just like his works. And in sense of Character you have to consider the time he comes from.As those things where considered normal even if not right if we would uphold all old authors to modern views most would be unreadable as they had a whole other Zeitgeist.
It's just that those two authors are controversial in their view of some subjects.

Of course I still like the books not the authors themselves.

Definitely Michael Moorcock. Became absolutely enthralled with his Hawkmoon series. Also The Final Programme was a very surreal and interesting bit of sci-fi spy reading

Hunter S. Thompson as well. Read the absolute shit out of "The Great Shark Hunt"

And John Kennedy Toole's "A Confederacy Of Dunces" is very close to my heart as someone who grew up close to New Orleans. (Also have a copy of Neon Bible too)

I really have no idea about something like that.🤔

Dunces is outstanding.

Forgot about Neon Bible.

Is William Shakespeare an author?

Surprisingly Neon Bible got a film adaptation.
The family rights dispute being what it is in New Orleans is still kind of bullshit. The family members only wanted a piece of it after Dunces did so well
