Who is the new Superman?

I just don't care.

I'm not even the biggest Snyderfan, but seeing how Gunn deliberately dropped FOUR DC films in 2023 to destroy any & all remaining pre-existing projects:
Blue beetle, zero marketing
Flash, executive medalled to death. The film was originally going to be released in 2016
Aquaman 2, executive medalled to death, despite its predecessor being the most financially successful DC film of all time (Please watch Manignant, James Wan deserved better that what ever DC/Gunn forced upon his film)
Shazam 2, zero marketing

I don't care about the new Superman.
It unironically has a Black Adam sized cast. but somehow any criticism of the film being crowded or unfocused is being over whelmed by what feels like a spitfull wave of "Return to form" articles.

Watching Gunn be given a free pass at the expense of other creators just sucks.
And the fact Superman last hiatus between films was 19 years, only for Gunn to pump out his film just 4 after the Snyder cut?

I don't care.
I loved the DCAU & Smallville but I'm done with the feature films.

I really REALLY hated the guy they got for Luthor in BVS. The fucking guy from Zombieland? There were things here and there I like from Synder. Just this guy's performance, just nah....

Batman v Superman was a crime against cinema. Zack Snyder should never be allowed to make movies again. But for some reason there are a bunch of Snyder-stans and I can't understand it.

Is a Superman movie, you can't expect something good, is a ok if you like James Gunn.
I just watch it because my girlfriend is DC geek but I don't really like the movie.
It feels like two movies in one, one for the Superman fans and other for the James Gunn's ego.

As a Non-DC geek, I did like it. I enjoyed most of the movie, but the F"#$"# dog, my god I hated that dog

Watched it, Enjoyed it, Hated the dog thinking that it might be like Krypto(the Super Dog) but nope, Loved the actors from both the heroes and villain sides. The Powers showcase were fantastic, Side characters were nice as well (Sadly Hawk-Girl's character wasn't given much time).

As a standalone Movie, I would recommend it.

I mean, it's everything I wanted a Superman movie to be. A fun and corny movie about someone who has great but not overpowered super strength and is vulnerable in more ways than one, who just wants to help others. Not some hero's journey or some melancholic "god among humans" or super morally charged themes.

I really loved the latest Batman movie as well, and I'm glad they got their own spotlights separately, because that's when I think they're at their best.

Exactly, Superman shouldn't be exactly the same as Dark Knight Batman with a different suit. That's why Zack Snyder's Superman was a crappy version of Superman, he didn't get the soul of the character.
