The new Superman is David Corenswet. He will take on the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming film "Superman," directed by James Gunn. The film is scheduled to be released in July 2025. Corenswet replaces Henry Cavill, who previously played the role.
The film will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Other cast members include Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.
Except for Nathan Fillion, I don't know any of these actors but I will watch the film, it looks interesting and I'm curious how it continued in the world of DC Universe. What do you all think about the film and will you watch it?

I mostly like James Gunn Movies, The Scooby Doo movies might been kinda mid but are very nostalgic to me (especially the second one, with Linda Cardellini as velma, gave a crush to child me), i like Sither and Super, Guardians was ok imo. Brightburn was awful but he only produced, Cavill is a competent actor and seems like a coll guy, but all the Zack Snyder flicks were imo terrible, they really need a change in direction, and if this change were to be a reboot they would have to recast. David Corenswet is a newcomer and i think a fresh face is a good idea, overall i am optimistic, i think Gunn's juvenile humor meshes well with superhero movies, hoping for something more similar to the 2000's x-man movies.

Ah, another dany-slop thread. Great. Can't get enough of this guy really.

Yeah, this will be interesting. James Gunn is good and knows what he's doing.

I'm told that people who worked on the Netflix The Witcher adaptation found him unpleasant because he was excited to be there and passionate about the source material.

He did that horror movie Pearl. Good actor. It’s going to be a great film.

I don't mind the choice of the actor, good choice showing Superman during his like second year out there doing his thing. Don't mind Krypto either or the tone of the movie shown so far. Hell, like that there's other characters like Guy GL, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific in there. "Superman's not as strong as.." I don't care if he's at power levels of the animated series, JLU series or the Man of Steel comic reboot, makes it interesting to me.

It's just the costume for Superman I don't like. And that S that Gunn and crew came up with. Looks like a backwards 7. The S symbol is iconic, this doesn't even look kinda like an S. I wouldn't even be surprised it doesn't have marketing staying power like the other symbols do.
I've hated the movie costumes for Superman since Superman Returns. "Get with the times, this my Super--" Shut up.
Classic look is what everyone the world knows. Besides, you're gonna tell me they couldn't do the classic look with materials and stuff like the modern cinema movies? Look me in the eye and tell me it wouldn't look good.

The costume and that bald fucker being in there (AGAIN????!!!!! Fuck off Luthor, give others in his rouges gallery screen time.) that rubs me the wrong way. Hoping this doesn't become another Black Adam movie, and it becomes a cluster fuck.

I'm actually going to the theater for this. I don't go hardly anymore. Last movie I saw in the theater was Godzilla Minus One premiere day. Fingers crossed Superman doesn't suck.

Yes, you are right about what you wrote. Who knows maybe he will be good let's just wait and see.
