Hey guys! I'm sure I'm not the only one who lived through the era of online web games, so I wanted to ask which ones you used to play. Here are some of mine:

Adventure Quest Worlds ⚔️:

This was one of my favorite games of those years, and I'm still very fond of it , Adventure Quest Worlds, was my first contact with an online RPG. Loads of weapons, accessories, wings, pets to get just by playing also the professions, from being a Warrior or a Mage to a Ninja or a Barber? good times. A few days ago, I found out that Artix is working on a version of the game made entirely in Unity (The original game was made in Flash) called Adventure Quest Worlds Infinity ::eyebrows

Seafight ?‍☠️:

For me, Seafight was basically playing Sid Meier's Pirates online. I remember slowly upgrading my ship—the cannons, the sails, the deck, etc. There were a lot of things that I didn't quite understand how they worked, so my ship wasn't the best, but during that time just playing a game of pirates online was enough. i remember joining to a clan and participate in a couple of battles. It was fun to watch the bigger ships fight and try to catch other noobs to at least help a little.

Fusion Fall ◻️◼️

I didn't get the chance to play Fusion Fall as much as I would like too. I remember the PC I had was so bad that the game took at least 30 minutes to load lol And there were these mini versions of the cartoons (Courage, KND, etc) that you got by defeating their doppelgänger. Other than that, I don't have many other memories of the game, really. ::thinking

If it counts, Poptropica.
Although it was mostly single-player, unless you entered into certain rooms, where you could then play mini-games with other players.
Still online, but it's kinda a shell of it's former self, imo.
Edit: Forgot MonkeyQuest, which is no longer online.

Played a very anime MMO ages ago called Dream of Mirror Online or DOMO for short. It had interesting mechanics for the time—the most memorable being flying on sword blades and pets with combat classes (e.g. tank, DPS, healer) who could also evolve into mounts—and the community was very friendly.

I also remember the main quest being really engaging: there's a war going on between humans and beastmen, so at the start of the game you choose who to side with, which determines what quests you get and from whom.

I tried several over the years...

Tried several from this one group... but i can't find the name. They had Shaiyeyah or something.

Pi Story... a short lived one ~2010, which was a simple beat-em-up game. Still got wallpapers for that game somewhere...

But really, i can't stand to play an MMO longer than a week. FireFall i got to max level on one of the 6 suits... and.... yeah it shut down shortly after. Played 2 weeks into that game (1 week 1 year, 1 week another year back in 2016)

I'm pretty sure I lost a full year of my life to Lineage 2 sadly.
Looking back is a really brainless grindy game.
I wouldn't count Lineage as a browser MMO actually it was the first "proper" game of the genere (Like WOW, Guild Wars, etc) I played and every couple of years I go back because my brother or cousin found another pvp server lol

I used to play Realm of the Mad God and Transformice. (Both apparently still exist.) Got too annoyed with the former to continue, and got bored of the latter.

I spent my entire childhood playing this chinese copy of Gunbound. It was really famous here in Brazil

I remember when this game was advertised in social networks like there was no tomorrow. I'd also add a certain "copying" factor to it, given how similar the character design looked like Maplestory's, lmao.

Also, just uttering that name alone made me feel...ancient.

I played a submarine game when I was twelve or so, sadly I can't remember the name. I even got into a clan in wich the owner gifted evety member the best avanible submarine.

My bad. My brain didn't register the word "web" on the topic.
I haven't played any browser mmo that I can remember.

Back in middle school, my classmates and I would play this social MMO called OurWorld. Funny shit happened when one of my classmates taught me how to pick up girls in this game.

The first girl I dated stripped down to her underwear and started dancing on a coffee shop table, and the second girl would absolutely not stop getting into arguments with people, then looked at me like I was crazy for dumping her in a day. Bare in mind, I was playing this on the classroom computer during free time, and my classmates saw this shit go down and we were just amazed and laughing at the situations I managed to get myself into.

The wierdest one was when a girl asked if I wanted to "do it" (Thankfully no one was around for this one.) Being a hormone ridden preteen I obviously said yes. One problem: she quickly got bored and left because I had no idea what erping was.

Dark Throne. I played a much older version than this but it seems that it's completely gone now. I couldn't find a single screenshot.

Legend of the Green Dragon. Very cool text based game. I can't remember why I dropped it, it was probably just me moving on to a different thing.

OG Adventure Quest. It was a cool game but it was more predatory about trying to get you to spend money than mobile games would become later. At some point the inability to make any progress for free made me drop it.

OGame. The last browser game that ever got my attention around 2009-2010. I remember it being great in the beginning but after you reached a certain point you became open to being attacked by anyone and longtime players made extensive use of that. There wasn't much of a point playing when you would wake up every day to the news that you were raided a hundred times by people you stood no chance against.

The Crims. A pretty cool crime simulator. It had two things I hated. It was separated into seasons, meaning your progress would be reset to 0 periodically and it had a lot of cheaters.

If anything, this thread reminded me of Legend of the Green Dragon. Maybe I should give it another go some day.

View attachment 26683Club Penguin is technically an MMO, I loved this game so much when I was a kid, I was very addicted to it, I would spend hours and hours on it, unfortunately the game and the series in general is dead.
Pretty sure there are many hard drugs out there that aren't as addicting as this, lmao :loldog
