Do any of you gamble? What's the most you've ever won?

I made £160 off of £1 once. That was a good day::coolmines
About the most I've ever done were scratch off tickets. I won like 50 dollars once.

I just don't think I really get the appeal of gambling, though, so it's not something I've ever really had the desire to do more of.

Nice. The first two scratch cards I did I won a fiver off of each. They were Pac-Man themed. Don't think I've ever won one since lol.

I definitely see the appeal, but for some games more than others. I could spend hours playing poker but would get bored pretty quickly with roulette I reckon.

I can't imagine what it must be like to live in Vegas. Did you live far enough away from the strip for it to be kind of peaceful, or was it always lively 24/7? Sounds like that could either be a dream or a nightmare.

I, like you, only like my uncultured idiocy on Wednesdays, Fridays and Wednesdays
Strip was about a 5 min drive away if the traffic's not wildin/rush hours

I used to take a laptop n a bottle of sake wine (it is legal to carry an open container in public - or at least it was for me 2.5 decades-tenure) onto the bus at about 4am on Fridays... get out at Las Vegas Blvd. n wander around findin aesthetically-appeaLing spots to sit at... about 5am-ish when it's relatively quiet n peacefuL I'd play emus keyboard-warrior style (in the late 90's I had no fight sticks or fancy pads yet...) n toss back some rice-wine n observe all kinds of shit as the Strip slowly went from sparse to ubiquitous with tourists n hookers n ppl sellin real drugs or fake drugs n just came to a cacophonic, vibrant life n by that time I was very at home with it bein nigh-drunk n hyperactively euphoric... the ppl I met, the places I ended up at, the shit I've gotten into there... was/is so surreaL that I feel like "srsly??" when I recaLL everything... just basicaLLy sittin behind a computer these days, introverted af like I was before teenage years...

I sure wish some of my harsh, severe health problems would back off but no - I would never want to do it over other than a few dire moments of miscalculation n regret. I like this as it is now.... fearless from all those years n the increasingly powerful hyperactive double-edged blessing/curse sword... but biding my time n at least not losin or destroyin shit... *much* xD.... I hang most often with my neighbor Rand n his sis Rene but I am looking into any local arcades I can locate n hit up... I was heavy into the pro fighting game scenes in the late 90's-late 00's... n I want to play comp/ppl in person. I was like the worst player outta my friends in those days other than times where I was lucky enough to be mad locked-in n focused. I've been 'properly' medicated for a long time unlike the constant partying in those wild-ass yrs n feeL I still have something to prove.

/EDDDGGGEEEEEE xD I kids ^_^

Well, as for the @Antilocal123 X @RanmyakuIchi ship, I have the theme song for the TV series >:p.

I strum my strings beneath the moon,
A melody of gloom in tune,
Silent whispers in the night,
Taking souls out of sight.

Just the two of us,
Playing our deadly tune,
A killer with her song,
Making victims swoon,
Just the two of us,
A perfect, blood-stained duet,
Music and murder,
The best duet you’ll never forget.

Notes like daggers in the air,
Harmonizing with despair,
Every chord a little more,
Adding to my lore.

Sake wine and outdoor emulation gaming sounds like a winning combo. I count on one hand every time I've tried sake and rice wine. Such smooth and easy-going drinks.

I hope you find a local arcade that lets you flex your fighting skills...and if not an arcade, even some of the video game cafés nowadays seem to be stocked with cabs and all the big console beat-em-up ports

Yeah, I'd watch this modern day remake of The Odd Couple

I'm really fond of Nigori Sake in particular, but it's hard to find where I live.

I'll keep an eye out for it. Sake's not well stocked around these parts either, but I may just be looking in the wrong places.

This red rice ale is one of the nicest drinks I've ever had. But it's so hard to come by and so expensive to import. Very tempted to though.

Interesting, I'll have to try this on the off chance I ever see it. The selection for beer and wine admittedly isn't the best where I currently live, and it's been a bit jarring as I moved here from a city that had more of a beer culture.

Apparently it’s a love triangle between @Antilocal123 ❤️ @RanmyakuIchi ❤️ @ZEGA ZONIC and why do always hear the song “Torn Between Two Lovers “ whenever I see the 3 of them altogether.

I usually procrastinate n fancy goin on some drinkery alkie bomb-binge n since my digestive system is like a warzone n at my age my brain doesn't exactly FLYY in euphoric grandiosity as I get smashed. I know 'normies' don't really get super-thinky on booze at any age but if shit is duLLin my mental blade... Fuck. That! I mean, for me it's like, wut's the point. sometimes like if I drank now I'd be virtuaLLy starring in my own Action-Alcohol-Adventure (triple A gaming franchise!) or 4D Platformer title (or B'mup if things went to uh-oh-Land... maybe even a Sh'mup y i k e z !)

that's just it. I don't wanna get into trouble. even if I just remained at the laptops or played my Steam Deck out back or chiLL'd at meh neighbors crib-abode... I'd start chasin it with water, I'd start backin off it. makes me feel like I'm wussin out but not for long cuz I hate all that fake-stoic alpha male baLL-buster buLLshit. makes me glad I left the tri-state area back East (twice) - I'd be hiding from ppl I'm afraid will drive meh to punch em in the mouth... even though I'd prefer permanent pacifism (MMA sparring with protective gear n no-hard-feelings vibe would be fine n I miss that a bit too)... my 'hatred for overwhelmingly stunning layers of stupidity' issues - agitated by all the MS, TD n Dystonia pain I work through every day... I mean, that's only 'worst-case-scenario' since I have a lot of self-control n balancing meds/painpills help reinforce that... I mean, I'd probably only throwdown with someone if they're mouthin off to close friends or fam tbh... most ppl, even some poor ppl here are nice (Albuquerque)... there's no need for shady or fightin' werdz jackassery in general. anywey... my bad, lost in ramble-babble lol

brb, gonna play some random bideo geemu (dumbshit romaji - how dare I xD )

I didn't summon the energy to play anything this evening. But I got an interview lined up for later this week, so that's pretty sweet! Probably gonna sleep soon, but first I'm gonna watch an edited let's play of a game I've never heard of before. Yeehaw

I'm well aware my Luck stat is the lowest one out of the others so no.
Besides, I don't like the idea of 'leaving the fate outside of your grasp' thing, I would rather take a 100% chance of losing out of my own choice, rather than a 90% chance to win but I don't get a say in it.

I find that kind of exhilarating, given the right stakes (not too high or too low). I guess you only win if you choose not to play, or if you play and make the right choices. Still, better not to fall into the gambler's fallacy. If I get 11 out of 12 legs hit in a parlay, I didn't "almost win", I just lost. But hey, sometimes you just gotta roll the bones

I wish to know your thoughts on this Movie:
Patch Adams

Based on my own viewing, I loved the character played by Mr. Robin, his views on treating, understanding, valuing life of others and patients in others, trying to find the right course of action through means of happiness and laughter, how he managed to win hearts through the "conditional" way.
But I Also understand that the movie plot had some holes in it, for example:
- The Ranch he bought for his dream and then later closes it because:
the death of his love due to being shot by a suicidal patient that blows himself off
- The Real Adam Patch didn't like the movie as it didn't portray his life accurately and just shows a goofy doctor.

For me the movie was well made for what it was, however I wish to understand or know your views as well. For a better understanding. Thank you.

Isn't that the movie where they turned Patch Adams' real-life male friend into a woman just so they could portray them as being in romantic relationship?

After seeing the movie, I read about it as well.

I forgot to mention, according to Reddit, the real Patch was to receive a sum to help build his hospital that hollywood didn't commit to giving.
One of the reviews for the movie written by Roger Ebert has said about the movie as well.

For movie purposes, I understand what the movie was going for. But for realism, I can get that it would be stupid in its own sense to have a doctor just clowning around.

I've only watched Patch Adams once when I was very young. Without any of the real-life context, I found it very funny and moving, if a bit tonally uneven. I only later discovered it was in development hell for so many years and that it had such a bad rep.

But if we're talking about Robin Williams films, we've gotta include the GOAT.
