This might be *slightly* off-topic, but let's say it's something I learned some years ago:

The absolute worst funk I ever encountered in my life - and I've operated many a trash compactor in my terrible career - had to be walking into a Smash Bros tournament some years back. There was a convention, with the tourney in one large chamber and the general convention stuff with booths and a stage in other. We entered the booth area on walking in, perused around, very normal.

Then we crossed rooms to see what everyone was playing, and the smell - like a punch in the face - was so thick you could literally taste it. The air was just that heavy with sweat from the guys sitting there in a hot community center for hours at that point. I went to high school with a lot of farmers - they threw the best parties, tons of space with little supervision - and the actual pigpens weren't half as bad. The booth nearest the adjoining hall had set up fans; between customers and *that funk*, only one would linger, and the smell was winning.

We didn't stay to find out who won, is what I"m saying. I'm hoping there were survivors.
