Doesn't really help that ever since they introduced nitro they get a lot more strict about post length and the file size you could upload too. I usually feel like now any server that has more than like a small friend group's worth of people is just impossible to really interact with in any meaningful way.

Truth, big servers are usually dead anyway, I remember my local arcade having one and despite having more than 100+ it was pure empty with the exception of some guy posting his Dance Dance score with 0 reactions.
The instantaneous of it can be both great and harmful. Sometimes it is good to just deliver a few messages in a short amount of time, but that convenience is not great in many people’s hands who choose to let their inner demons be on full display. Sometimes it is healthier to have a small barrier to discourage you from expressing a rather ineloquent thought. A small ounce of kindness goes a long way in the long run.

Truth, nothing wrong with displaying a sense of transparency with other people in a server, you don't know one another, and a barrier/guide is a great way to maintain that status quo without oversharing to an unhealthy amount.
