Anime Which trope in Anime you like and which you don't like?

Thread had a downwards spiral in less than 10 replies and it's so funny
Anyway about the subversion thing: Natsuki from DDLC was kinda refreshing for her multiple interests and slightly more complex writing. And then there's the other 3 who kinda are just tropes and nothing else, especially Yuri. Introverted bookworm that's a yandere, now where have I heard that before?
Speaking of Yuri I think too many are there just to please male Otakus...

Anime fans complain about fujoshis (and I understand them) but imo there are also the male pendant of them about yuri.

I've never understood the appeal for Tsunderes and Yanderes.

I've never understood the appeal for Tsunderes and Yanderes.
You know the saying "Don't stick your dick in crazy"
Well, some people DO want that.

As for the Tsundere shit, I think the appeal is the feeling of unrequited love without it actually being unrequited.

You know the saying "Don't stick your dick in crazy"
I've always felt like this expression was a bit borderline misogynistic but I can understand that some people are appealed to peculiar characters.

Although it's a detrimental showcase of mental health and Japan is years behind with that subject.

Why everybody is arguing about Loli.
There is so many trope to list other than Loli.
I think there should be no debate about underage character portrayal.

Sure, at the end of the day they're fictional but people shouldn't say that it's normal to make them dressed lightly or have suggestive poses.

Maybe I can understand that a character being cute is the appeal but it should have 0 other undertones.

And we're wired to like bodies that look matured enough.

Which is your Favorite Anime Trope?

Which is your Least Favorite Anime Trope?
bro i dont care about school, i get this is my own fault, cus most anime is targeted to them. But holy shit I dont give a sht about school. Not to say that it ruins a show or anything of course not. Loli or shota shit does a ruin a show for me tho

and when i say ruin a show, i mean the abillity to recommend it to people who arent anime nerds, shit is weird and creepy but its woven into it which you know. when you grow up with anime it dont seem super weird. then your 25.

"i have new crazy powers just because im the protagonist" im not gonna lie the older u get, the more deepness and the social drama is more interesting than the tournament arcs. Like when friien became about the exam it was just like every other anime that exists.

Thread asking what your least favorite trope is has people saying what their least favorite tropes are, who would've thought?
anime would be better if it was more artsy than sexual. and when i say sexual i mean pornographic, like fan service.

Anime is good, there are plenty without anything sexual undertones nor fanservice.

And I'd even argue that eroticism is also done in western media. Maybe it's more common in Europe than the US but it's not like only Japan has that. Old cartoons had dirty jokes that went under the radar.

There's a good middle ground between doing raunchy fanservice and going full puritanism with no ankles being drawn.

Not a personal like but I do agree with it, a good friend of mine loves it when a Shonen character uses a technique they've already used before and a second character goes "OMG It's that technique he used!!!"

As for the dislike, I personally dislike almost every RomCom Anime/Manga. Most of them feel like the exact same thing that I've already seen hundreds of times. Almost as if they're being copy and paste story to story with very minor differences.
There's always a heroine in the beginning that by chance or whatever the protag will meet and get together with by the end. There's always this random cast of chicks that the protag meets along the way and spends more time with them than the heroine and seem like better options for him.
And there's always some fucking titty grabbing and panty-shot jokes.
I've recently started reading a RomCom that felt fresh by the name of "Grand Blue Dreaming" and I'd totally recommend you give it a read.

I'd also talk about what I'm neutral about. The typical "Anime Voice Acting".
You know what I'm talking about, constant loud screams and loud moans over the littlest thing like an overweight fatass trying to reach for his last cheeseburger.
Like nobody just stands still and looks around and moans unless they got a seriously fucked up fetish.
Because of this, I've noticed that there's two types of voice actors.
The first is the aforementioned "Anime Voice Actor" where the idea of an in-door voice doesn't exist.
The second is the "Movie Voice Actor" where they realistically talk and behave like humans.
The reason why I don't outright hate it, is because it works well for something like a Shonen where they constantly scream like apes during battle.

I would argue that Vegeta's first Kamehameha was quite an iconic moment.

No, I meant when he finally used the actual technique.

Same with when an antagonist is using a protag's technique, it's often shocking.
I don't recall Vegeta ever being able to do a Kamehameha. Unless this is something that happened in Super or you're referring to the time during the Buu Saga when Goku and Vegeta combined both of their attacks to create a Final Kamehameha.

The opposite of what you described but It did reminded me of the time in the first arc of Naruto, where Kakashi copies Zabuza's Hand Sign techniques and uses his own abilities against him putting them both in a stalemate. (Probably the first and last time hand signs actually mattered in Naruto lol)

Like sex is a part of life, you can be compelling with it, anime is rarely ever sensual and its usually just fan service. If you see where I'm coming from. Like porn.

Like: Mechas (any type), good story telling and growing arc, not annoying characters, cool visuals, well-written comedy.

Don´t like: Incest, loli, lame fanservice, extremely overpowered but boring characters, annoying loudy voices

I feel this so hard. Voice acting doesn't have to be over the top to get a point across.

That was a play on the regular anime tropes though. The entire game isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's a parody.

im a massive anime fan, do you know an anime that has none of the embarrassing tropes of anime? Monster, mfing Monster.

Ugh agreed. Fucking Nisekoi. I found out about it via the Chitoge costume in Mario Maker and the more I watched the anime, the more I was like "holy shit Chitoge is one of the worst options by far." I guess the author realised that too, so they took away the single best option (Tsumugi) by writing her off in the most contrived way. Then there's the others who are kinda just chopped liver. Onodera especially comes to mind. Sometimes I wish these rom-coms had sequel series where the side characters actually get S/Os too (and I mean actual characters not some random assholes who never showed up beforehand and have 0 character) or more stuff like Makeine focusing on these abandoned side characters getting over it. This trope of "first girl he meets is his girlfriend" sucks ass, I need an anime where the MC gets with one of the side characters with better chemistry instead.

I will check this one out, thanks for the rec

Like:
- When the characters is on the ground bloodied on the verging of giving up but remembers his motivations/friends/mentor and is slowly strugling to stand up for a final try at doing something
- When time stops so we can see how characters think about doing their movements in a battle. Some people might say it breaks the pacing and "Show don't tell" and blablablala-blehg but I like the dramatization of it. It doesn't need to be all realistic if it can elevate a moment. Of course, if done well.
- You know an Anime is banger when you can hear the beggining of the ending while an important scene is still playing and the cut to the ending proper.

Dislike:
-Pervert characters
-Unnecessary Fanservice
- Boring Main Characters which their only trait is being "Nice"

Anime featuring game development(16bit Sensation).
Grooms the onee-san the groomed him now that she's half his age

What's the fuck this show's deal? I went into it thinking it was just about developing eroge for 90s computers but then it hits me with some matrix-level, time traveling shit.

I don't like when the story revolves around a chosen one, seems lazy and more of the same. I also don't like fillers that are too long or don't add anything to the story or characters.

I like characters improving over time, both their personality as their skills.
