I have a slim version, and i'm starting to have a little games collection.
I was wondering which titles do you consider not good for the standard console, as almost requiring the PRO version?
What games i should avoid?

i have no idea but i have a standard playstation 4 and i wouldnt want to get cyberpunk 2077 for it. But this is from my impression of it during the launch, it may have improved now

Many games actually seem to have less issues on a base ps4 than the pro.

My base ps4 did not have issues with some games, then suddenly on ps4 pro, the fan started getting obnoxiously loud for games that would make my base ps4 warm.

I've reached the conclusion that the Ps5 was a better alternative to my ps4 pro so I got one. Great machine, but not if you already have a good ps4 lying around unless some exclusives drag you in.

FF7 Rebirth and Stellar blade did that for me, and I had a massive library on my psn account that would work on the machine so it was a no brainer.

Everything works, bar cyberpubnk 2077 as far as I am awrae, and some games locked to ps5 would also work on ps4 but Sony wants people buying ps5's it seems, so they are blocking ps4 releases of these games.

PSVR games kind of play like ass. I play them on the PS5 with the dongle they give you if you place your serial number on the site for the free plug.

Nier Automata runs noticeably less framerate on a regular PS4, only very "intense" parts lag though aka lots of enemies and bullets and such. maybe you can tolerate it but i didn't like it dropping so many frames. pro version does drop a FEW frames though
on a ps5 console there's no framedrops period.

Final Fantasy 15 has more graphics options on Pro (3) pro can do 60fps on the lowest graphics mode
ps4 normal has no options and runs 30fps if i recall, it doesn't look good on regular ps4 to me.
ps5 version is 60fps all the time.

ff7 remake (part 1) is HUGELY improved on PS5 version, this isn't a ps4 vs pro issue, but highly think you should NOT play this on PS4 period
it's much faster gameplay (extremely faster dodge rolls), combat sped up immensely, many buffs to you and a few nerfs were absolutely needed on a few enemies, none of these updates are on PS4 port. also Yuffie dlc episode isn't available on PS4 port, you need ps5 for it.

all those games can run on a good PC and if you can should do so (if you have a good enough pc to max em out or close to)

The only game that I had issues on a regular PS4 was Tales of Arise. I think there was a bit of stuttering here and there, but I remember that it taxed my system enough that my PS4's fans sounded like a jet engine. I had the sneaking suspicion it was originally supposed to be a current gen game, but ported it to PS4 and Xbox One due to the supply chain issues.

Nier Automata is very well optimised game, and although it has framerate drops, they always stay on the 50's. Only forest kingdom is the place where framerate drops more, probably on the 40's, but PS4 Pro and PS5 add a terrible effect I don't like: the motion blur. I have experienced the demo on both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro and I liked it more on PS4 Slim. I do not know if PC version can remove the motion blur by tweaking something, but if someday PS4 can be overclocked like PS3, PS4 Slim will be the best platform to play Nier Automata without barely no framerate drops.

Control is another game that suffers, but only in specific areas, the rest is totally playable.

Yeah, I also had a good experience with Nier Automata on my fat PS4.

Idk, most games run fairly okay, expecially the ones made by Sony. I only remember that my poor console had trouble running Wanted: Dead, but that's understandable since it was like a throw away port to get some more sales. I knew it was the worst way to play it but it was the only option for me.

I remember a friend complaining about issues in Nier Automata like 7 or 8 years ago. The problem Nier Automata has, which is common in open games, is basically using HDD. There are tons of micro stutters that virtually disappear by using a SSD. I usually do not take into account when people review performance of PS4 games and they are using HDD's just because "PS4 came originally with HDD". That's not an excuse for me, and it's been proven that SSD improve significantly loading times, texture popup and stutters without any downside.

i wanna say the ps4 game has a motion blur on/off setting
i could be wrong, i hate motion blur a lot myself. didn't notice it on my playthroughs if it is locked on. ill check later

PC port definitely has the option though as i google it up.

Nah it's still unplayable on a base PS4
I've played through Cyberpunk 2077 two times on a regular PS4 two years ago on the latest patch and had no issue playing the game. My only pet peeve, and one of the biggest reasons I snagged a PS4 Pro, is that the posters and billboards are in normal settings more often that not pixelated messes. But you can tweak it so it's higher res like the Pro.

As far as I know, Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 has a dynamic fidelity system running, where it lowers the resolution the more taxing running the game becomes. If you toggle the "depth of field" off, you have higher res assets, but the game stutters and freezes for a few seconds occasionally as it loads more of the map, which can suck if you're in combat.

Now the biggest problem with the PS4 version is that it's stuck at the 1.7 patch, i think. Which means there's not the additional content added to the game, like more cars and the ability to buy them using the in-game computer in the pad or the working subway system, or the DLC Phantom Liberty.

But not having the latest patch also means not having some of the more questionable updates, like car combat and the hacks stack in combat (detracts from the immediacy of the combat) which are kinda meh. Personally I think CD Projekt RED overcorrected on Cyberpunk 2077.

On PS4, Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun, chill game.

With Nier Automata, I don't remember having any performance problem on the base PS4.

Days Gone It's not that good on the regular PS4. Frame rate dips are common, especially when riding the motorcycle through dense regions or approaching large hordes of enemies.

ah ah, i wasn't thinking there could be opposite effects too

in my limited PS4 experience (as titles played), for now just Kingdom Come Deliverance seems suffering on the console; but i also don't know if does improve on the PRO lol

Poor optimisation, small minor improvements here and there and before I know it, my pro is a jet engine when it ran fine and looked not different in any way that was noticeable and did not make my machine scream!!!, from just running the game as normal. Fallout 4 managed this and that was when I parted ways with my ps4 pro, ghost of Tsushima in any heavy wooded area with many falling leaves and suddenly the fan kicks off in a way that just gives me anxiety and I typically am not the anxious type.

This would have to do with poor heat dissiapation coupled with dogshit tier optimisation for the machine. Bad all round, never buy a ps4 pro, just buy a ps5 if you want to upgrade or stick with a ps4 base verison if there's no exclusives calling to you.
