Which JRPG story stuck with you long after you played it?

You would be amazed and either shocked or appauld at the sheer volume of games rpg maker has spawned and ran on some games are so unique from the next you'd swear it was a diff engine it's actually a solid program for game development.
I mean, To The Moon and Lisa were made on RPG Maker and they are fantastic games, but the sprites and assets used on Lisa are very good. I think it helps a lot when they use different graphical assets.
I think Corpse Party was also done in RPG Maker.

BTW i made this battle system on RPG Maker VX ACE using Theolized CBS back in 2014, good times.

It was a Lunar fan game.

Very nice what made you stop? If I may ask that is. And yes importing new assets goes a million miles, I used to be one of those people who avoided games using the assets packaged in. I since have learned not to do this but none the less I agree 100%.

Lack of inspiration due to not being able to recreate the Lunar battle system, where characters move around the battleground, made it impossible for us to recreate this system. A guy I was working with made a prototype of it, but it was a mess... When you looked at it on a video, it looked like it worked, but once you played it, it was terrible, with characters stacking up in front of each other due to not having a working collision system or grid system. RPG Maker is very limited for combat, but what we did was the most you can do with this system.
When I look at it now, I think it's not a big deal, and I could make it work like a Final Fantasy game and be done with it. But I like to respect the game, also because it looks so cool when characters move around the map and also adds some strategy.

Yeah, To The Moon used some stock assets, and the story was really cool. So it depends on the game, but using custom graphics definitely helps with the immersion.

Ahhh I see that's a bummer. I am experiencing creative and production short comings myself on a project I've taken in so I feel your pain. Sucks when your hearts into it and a good idea fizzles out. I've been writing for a group of quote '"programers" and after four years they show me what they had and it was a long the same lines. They were a few states away but I shoulda asked for something sooner. If it's anything to you don't lose that spirit to make a vision or dream manifest man we don't know one another but I get a significant vibe when reading your post like I have a feeling you'll run into opportunity to further what you have someday. And I'm that guy who brushes other creative minds off so really keep at it!

Your words are really inspiring. Thanks a lot, mate.
Yeah, to be honest, I just went and focused on my death metal project, which I already made some small money with, so it was worth the change, but if someday I retake the project, I will let you know.

im a basic pumpkin spice latte drinkin bish so obviously its FFX for me. i laughed, i cried, it moved me. and its all thanks to blitzball. it was nice that they built a story to go with it too i guess.

Who's ready to survive?
Honestly i shall remember that first boss, the evil path and how it all started, and every day with the emails and sudden turns, and a great final fight to cap it off!

Awesome love me some Death metal lol not a bad switch but ya should you get at it again def lemme know I would gladly play test or offer any opinions or advice I can give! I love aiding in others projects! Creation or manifesting things into reality is the most incredible thing us humans can do!

Two I could majorly think of off the top of my head are Live A Live and Tales of Berseria. The medieval-era story for Live A Live is especially well done and I genuinely think about it a lot. The same goes for Tales of Berseria, there were so many times I needed to take a break from the game to think about what happened because of how impactful it was. Not to mention I still think about these games as I'm falling asleep at night, so I think that tells you a lot how much they've impacted me.

Although it's an action JRPG, I also want to mention Fate/Samurai Remnant, especially with its multiple endings. Iori and Saber are among my favorite protagonists for a good reason and there is just so much to analyze about them and the other characters in the story.

The one that stuck with me the most is probably Chrono Trigger.
