Which is your favorite PlayStation startup?

I'm basically a walking nostalgia google, but... PS2 for me.

It's futuristic enough, but still old school. That's hard to pull off.

All PlayStation startups are great, but the PS1 is the most iconic and remembering of all, especially because of the SCE logo and then the famous PS Logo in Red, Yellow, Green and Blue that we all know.

It's tough to choose between PS1 and PS2 but for me the PS2 wins out. It's probably the final iconic startup I remember on a console.

PSP easily

PS1, PS2, and PS3 are just obnoxious noises. Vita has that annoying grocery store/elevator music. PS4 and PS5 don't even make an impression

PS2. That startup sound instantly brings me back. I love the PS2 menu screen ambiance. It’s so relaxing. It reminds me of ocean waves.

PS2 for me and it's not even close. That startup is still unmatched. Tbh, all the 6th gen consoles had great startup sounds now I think about it.

PS1 by a landslide. It's ironic because I've never actually owned a PS1. Only ever played at other people's houses growing up.

PS2 in far off second because it's also great but nowhere near as iconic to me. I did own that system though.

PS1 and PSP were my favorite, since those were the only two I've owned before.

Ack, a tough choice between 1 and 2.
I'll go with 1, as it had a "bonus" piece of music that plays if the disc fails to read.

PS2 also had a disc read error screen, again proving the gaming world that Sony sound engineers know how to give young gamers at the time nightmares.

PS1. Something about seeing that way back when felt special. Everyone since then is cool, but expected.

I cam into this thread expecting it to be a competition between PS1 or PS2, but after re-listening to them, I'm a little surprised how fond I am of the PSP, PS4, and PS5. I think I'm still going to go with the PS1, as the combination of the two logos really makes it feel like something arisen from the future.

I'm actually not crazy about the PS2 upon revisiting it, something about it makes it feel almost harsh, in a way that the later ones feel much more inviting.
