Which Is Better: PSP or PS Vita?

A hacked PS Vita (ideally a 1000 model for the OLED screen) is better than a PSP in most cases. With it, you can play both Vita and PSP games (and you can use plugins to play some PSP games with camera controls on the right joystick and/or with higher resolution), including homebrew emulators and games. People have also ported many old Android games to the Vita, some of which don't even run on modern phones. A PSP is only better in very specific cases:
  • You want to use an UMD.
  • You want to play an UMD Video (their ISOs don't work on Vita).
  • You want to use a PSP hardware accesory (e.g. the GPS module).
  • You really like the form factor of the PSP Go (other PSP models are really similar to the Vita).

With a hacked Vita you can use a cheap SD card adapter.
Too little and too late for that. Even then, i still wouldn't have bothered with the Vita much. Thanks for the info though.

Let's stop saying "both" for this one and accept the fact that psp is better with exclusives alone

psp cheaper ::winkfelix

PSVita (but hacked). If hacking's not possible, one must choose the library of games that likes the most.

I have owned a psp with physical games, then a Vita with physical games... then I sold Vita for personal reasons, but a couple years ago I got struck by nostalgia and decided to give a try with hacking the Vita, since it became quite simple.
Best decision, because now I can play Vita, psp and ps1 titles all in one, and I've been able to play some great title I missed out. My psp was almost dead, so I sold it after copying and pasting all save data in Adrenaline.
Also, I bought a grip for Vita on Alixpress with the "ZR" and "ZL" buttons and that's the second best decision, it's better to hold in your hands.
