Which games introduced you to real-world musical artists?

saint's row 2 had this song in it's radio, and it's probably one of the songs that changed my life

It was almost a year before that I started to play my first instrument, and that kind of sound stays with me even to this day, even tho I don't listen exclusively to that kind of music as it was in those days

Saints Row 2 had a really good soundtrack!

MGSV is why I like Man Who Sold The World, The band Garbage and Mike Oldfield's Nuclear so there's that I guess!
OH and No More Heroes introduced me to Genki Rockets (Wii players know what I'm talking about)

I love how eerie & haunting that version of The Man Who Sold The World is!

Same! Even if I didn't become a huge fan of every band featured in Guitar Hero, they at least knew most of the time which songs would be fun to include.

Ar Tonelico franchise made me an huge fan of Akiko Shikata, its mold my musical taste that its hard to reverse to what it was before

And Final Fantasy X-2 unlocked the diva pop missing in my brain, I still listening her songs nowadays and it surprises me to see non-FF fans knowing who she is lol

Kingdom Hearts made me a fan of Utada Hikaru. The Ridge Racer games got me into Sanodg, Samplingmasters, and Kohta "SOLIDSTATE" Takahashi.
I'm also a fan of Utada Hikaru because of KH ::fire They also did the one Skrillex song I really like for KH III ::sailor-embarrassed

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy got me into Cold, Really cool band.

The rock music from Sonic games led me to becoming a huge metalhead

The Crush 40 to Dying Fetus pipeline is real

The Ape Escape games put me onto Soichi Terada which then lead to me looking into more Japanese electronic music. Also, as a few others have said, Kingdom Hearts got me into Utada Hikaru as well. Those first 3 albums of hers are still incredible lol.

Sonic is to you what Guitar Hero was to me. I find just about every Sonic game has good-great music. It's one of the few consistencies the franchise seems to have ::sailor-embarrassed

Bujingai - Gackt
Onimusha 2 Japanese intro - Tomoyasu Hotei
Leona Lewis - FF 13
Psychic Force - Zuntata J.A.M
Tales of Destiny Japanese intro - DEEN (Still my favourite of the Tales of intros.)

I'm partial to the Tales of Zestiria opening. If I'm not mistaken, it changes depending on what dub you are playing. Japanese dub OP has the vocals, while the English dub OP is instrumental.

I also remember that, was pretty neat feature, so you had best of both worlds.
