Which games did you buy at random and were completely blown away by?

There's been a few. Probably a lot less these days since I tend to at least know something about games I buy (unless I just get them based on screenshots because they're cheap indie titles):
  • Abiotic Factor
  • Streets of Rogue
  • Ghostlore
  • TheoTown
As for older titles? It'd probably be something like:
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Stubbs the Zombie
  • Fable - The Lost Chapters

Vengeance Hunters. Even at a sale of $15, i never went back to it after beating the game, and deleted the app on PS5. What doesn't help matters is that the game doesn't save your high score unless you complete a 1cc run.

Absolum has too many run backs and I don't like rougelike games. Outside of Double Dragon Gaiden. It's a much better game.

overwatch. I bought it in 2016, at the time I only knew it from screenshots, nothing more. A friend of mine told me about it and that's how I started. After 10 years and 1000+ hours, I can say it was worth it. What a ride that was, lol

My first was Nintendo 64 Perfect Dark. I used to buy a single game with no resistance. Just something fun that I did... after starting up the game, wow. I didn't expect that. After my first play I was hyped to show it off to my best friend and we both fell in love together. (with the game, not each other)

I know this is supposed to be for "retro games" Is 8 years retro enough?
Probably not, but anyway no other game OF ALL TIME has consistently
blown me away as much as

View attachment 175792 I have been playing for 312 hours and still going strong
I love that game. After throwing manure at people, I was hooked. Especially after first playing through Theresa's scenario.

Dead or Alive 2

I knew the special "qualities" of the game, and when I got my DC i needed some games to test so when i see this disc:

I knew I had to get it.

And to my surprise, the game IS AWESOME. I fall in love with the whole franchise and still play DoA 2 on my DC when I can.

For me it was Borderlands 2. I got to knew the game thanks to some Minecraft skins pack on the 360 and got interested in the designs, then I got the game without knowing nothing and got surprised because at that time the concept of a loot shooter didn't exist on my mind.
