Anyone ave any idea where I could find an archive of old game magazines? I found a forum about 9 months ago that was pay-gated and didn't bookmark it, now I can't remember where I found it. I'm really interested to go back and read some contemporary reviews and Coverage of my childhood games like Medievil and Tomba. Maybe MGS2 or the hype around Sonic, too.

If anyone has any particular recommends for magazinees once i find an archive, I'd love to hear that too.

That's not bad https://www.retromags.com/

Maybe not the most extensive but this this Video Game History Foundations' library seems like a nicely curated one. There's always (hopefully) internet archive for anything more obscure that someone was nice enough to share with the world.

Thank you very much! Time to get my torrent on and drop a donation.

THIS is incredibly interesting! Thank you!

If you're after some obscure magazines, there's a nice selection available on https://datassette.org/ .

The focus is Brazilian memorabilia, but the site also has a wide selection of magazines, manuals, and various scans in many languages such as English, Spanish, Italian, etc.
There's the full torrent and also individual direct downloads.

Everyone already posted the places I know. Just wanted to say how much I like retro gaming mags and strategy guides.

I was about to make a thread about cool magazine screenshots, but I guess I can post one here.

The dank lighting in this is so much better to me than the actual game. It gives a specific, uncomfortable vibe that I adore.

And I know many screenshots of early Super Mario 64 builds have inspired people’s idea that Super Mario 64 is some weird dream that is personalized to you.

Lots of pre2k mags have prototype/pre-beta imagery in them and even games that are cancelled. It's really fun to see them. I always remember seeing the screen for FF6 (aka FF64) that got cancelled

In my old pc I had a bookmark to a site in which there were all issue of "VitaMag" and it was called something like VitaLounge, you could scroll through every magazine of this series. Can't find it anymore even googling it, only a Kickstarter project: does someone have the right link or maybe it does not exist anymore?
It was a magazine about Psvita and no login / download was required to scroll through the scans. Thank you!

The dark lighting in that SA1 screenshot looks awesome. Kinda wish the final game did that.

I found this Reddit thread 5 years ago that implies that they’ve quit updating the site. Also the Kickstarter stopped uploading as well. You can try the wayback machine and see if you find anything.

I found that reddit too, but no links. Note that I'm talking about 2024, not many years ago, in that site there were all the issues of the magazine. I don't remember though if I got the link from one of the threads in this forum or found it randomly somewhere else.
