Considering that Supergirl is the 2nd (or 3rd) movie in new DCU, that Warner has new owners and that profits aren't hitting targets, I think it's only a matter of time before they oust "White Head" from the top spot and move forward with plans without him.

But who would take over? Matt Reeves? The Rock?

it would be a really bad idea to oust James Gunn just as the DCU is just getting started.
Superman was great and was a breath of fresh air. it would be a massive waste if they got rid of him just for one movie underpreforming

It’s not a bad movie, but I expected it to be memorable enough to spark a lot of discussion about what it presented (everyone forgot about it after a week).

Superman.
I honestly loved it. really felt like the proper superman film i had waited for. i dont think it was "forgotten". not every movie needs to be endlessly discussed for over a year.

tbh, i've still yet to have watched Supergirl. i definitely will, this week.
i was gonna watch it last week but i cancelled it due to the terrible heatwave

The thing is: we spent over a decade in Snyderverse's shadow and Gunn did a great job marketing the new DCU to us with transparency and conviction (so I felt it was fair to expect a memorable film from him, one that would be discussed for years and years after its release).

i found superman very forgetable and supergirl actually quite decent - supergirl deserves to be the hit movie when compared to superman
