When you lose ,but it's okay.

so, me and my friends just lost a championship's quarter finals, it's a quiz game thing with points and what not and it's a local, boot-legged college-hosted version of the state-wide quiz show.
who were our opponents? the champions of the state-wide quiz show!!
now, the competition wasn't even close, they won at the real thing and we haven't even tried this once. it was 40 (us)-80 (them) ,then 50-100 then with a miracle 75-100 then 100-140 then 130-160 then with an even bigger miracle 160-160 and then lost at the last question.
i feel extremely relieved, i can relax; there are no more matches, no more stress, i lost and that's it and i did something i never thought i could do. oh by the way they won the real thing 140-85 ,like maybe we could compete in the real thing.

first thing comes to mind is rocky and ashita no joe , do you fellas know any movies, anime, games, books, etc in any language that share the same value?
i frankly just wanted to talk about what happened it was crazy!

others that i can think off that could work out: ping pong the animation is absolutely great (it has a wierd art style, but you get used to it and as i said the story is fantastic and touches on subjects of what i feel you could be going throw right now), it does have too an amazing ost:

also "100 meters" the movie i would recommend.

it really is something special, isnt it?
most of the times i love anime cause it transports me into this fantasy land full of fun, but as ive grown older honestly the ones i end up appreciating the most are the ones that try to deal with it instead, show it, reframe it, make you think about your own.

this one is my top 5 easily, it makes me happy to see someone else connect to it.

(also man isnt the ost of this show amazing too, ive been comeing back to it every year or less haha)

exactly, it's either growing up or getting better taste but, i've been enjoying the more grounded, realistic animes.
you can say it's dreamland fatigue but i guess all stories are a form of dreamland but, at least this dreamland resembles real life that it i guess inspire and elevates it from just being escapism.
wanted to make a joke about kazama being in the bathtub too much along with his bathroom fixation but they didn't sound good in my head.
