When did Xbox turn bad for you?

It was when the Xbone was first announced back in 2013. It killed my interest right then and there for getting into the Xbox brand. The Kinect bundle was the cherry on top of the crap sundae. The "This is an Xbox" just make me go "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?"

I kind of abandoned the Xbox as of learning of the failure rate of the Xbox 360, all my consoles thus far still worked and do work to this day from back then, but I really wasn't comfortable spending hundreds on something that just broke down eventually, it wasn't an if either, it was a when.::nervous-prinny

I tried the second version of the 360, that was fine, I liked halo 3 and odst but that was about it, most games I liked were exclusive to the ps3 and as someone who largely played Japanese developed games at the time, many of those games did not release on the xbox later in it's lifecycle. The disc size of the 360 games was hindering multiplatform games as well as the generation wore on.

The reveal of the Xbox one was easily one of the most fascinatingly out of touch moments with the customer base that Microsoft has ever had.

The 360 had it's time in the sun, but I preferred the OG Xbox for what was often the better choice for multiplatform back then. It also had jet set radio future, no other Xbox had that, so it's the best xbox.

If jet set radio future suddenly released on PS5, then yes, that is now the best Xbox according to their latest marketing nonsense.::cirnoshrug

A friend of min grew up with the 360, so it's a sacred cow for him ::surprised-pikachu

When they announced the Xbox one and the fact they wanted to go all digital. They’ve been pushing it for years and finally looks to be working for them. I hate all digital and will never buy an all digital console.

my negative view is the increase of the game pass pricing and game pass in general, no, i ain't paying 50+ SAR for a subscription that can't provide both EA and Ubisoft games, how many times have i got the ultimate one and can't get EA's games? this is honestly my biggest hate for that

I was very happy with the 360, I remember after 360,. the new xbox, xbox one? Announced online is a must for the future, something like even i buy the hardcopy but i can't play it offline? And I have left xbox ever since.

Xbox One. The announcement unsold it to me, and I haven't gone back since.

Then less good new first party games were coming out, but the PS3 was getting loads.
Then the 360 started showing adverts in the dashboard even though you had to pay for a subscription to play online. The PS3 just kept getting new features.

My opinion of Xbox had dropped a fair bit by this point, but the tipping point was the NXE update. The dashboard was now far, far worse and piled up with the other issues that had come along, my opinion of Xbox tipped from neutral to unfavourable.
It was around that time, maybe a bit later for me. I started changing my tune when Microsoft started narrowing their exclusives to just Gears of War, Forza, Halo and 6 months of the newest Call of Duty. Microsoft still launched a few games I loved like Alan Wake and Fable Anniversary, but it was pretty much a period of drought for me.

Then afterwards when Don Mattick came with the "If you don't have Internet, play on the Xbox 360.", Xbox became a bad joke.

What they canceled Mistwalker’s Cry On.

I remember being interested in Dead Rising 3 when i saw the trailer but the E3 presentation for Xbox one was so atrocious and held a powerful amount of negative energy that it negated that one interest lol

This and them screwing over Platinum with Scalebound. MS killing all of their talented studios and Tango Game especially filled me with so much rage. They're dead to me. The devious shit they've done and still do outside of gaming or XboX sickens me even more so. I am never touching anything from them ever again.
