A question me and my friend ask each other a lot.
Now, I’m not too picky, but the standard beef, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions, ketchup, mayo combo is unbeatable for me ::biggrin

I'm as boring as they come, my dude.

A big party between two slices of bread and drowned in ketchup and I'm a happy Waffle.
Simplicity is something I hella respect, actually ?

I am a simple man for me any burger is perfect ?

Okay... I get to be the weirdo, i'm fine with that. Personal fave: bacon, avocado, grilled onion, mayo, with the burger done just past medium so its still good and juicy. Yum!

Not at all. I’m super open minded (and probably weirder). I love mushrooms on burgers. They’re tasty.
Avocado is great.

is a chicken breast on a "burger bun" a "burger" or a "chicken sandwich"
does this change based on cooking method (batterfry vs grilling etc)
does a "chicken sandwich" become a "burger" if the meat is ground into a patty
does the calculus here change for other meats (pork turkey cod lamb etc)
these questions are still unsolved to me; i vastly prefer chicken to beef but a "hamburg steak" is objectively beef

anyways it's the mcdouble. the mcdouble is a perfect food.

Mushroom and Swiss or Cheddar burgers are awesome, a normal go to.

Oh no need to overthink it, I’m fine with just calling them chicken burgers. I think it makes sense.

Obviously the beef patty, a nice toasted bun, cheese (normally I'd use some havarti, Monterey Jack, or some gouda), sauteed mushrooms and onions, tomato slice, leaf lettuce, a couple slices of sweet pickle, and my favourite sauce- ranch. I also do the same for chicken burgers, which I prefer to beef patties.

The cheeses you listed are all awesome. Ranch is really good.

Gimme some crispy chicken breast on a toasted sesame bun with cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, spicy mayo and a couple jalapeño slices plus some fries on the side and I'm a happy man.

Five Guys Burger & Fry's

Whenever I tell people that I put ranch on my burgers, 9/10s out of ten their first response is "that's really weird dude". Then I tell them to try it and most of the time I convert them to the ranch life. It's just the best sauce in conservative amounts.

I’ve loved ranch my whole life. It’s so tasty.

Where I live, Ranch dressing is a food group :)

Hm, I'll have to see if I can find some Ranch dressing at some point... the stuff has never been much of a thing in my corner of the world, so I've never had it.

I prefer to have my patties smashed (used to work at a place that exclusively did smash burgers), but I won't say no to a big patty. If the meat and cheese is good enough that's all I need but I add ketchup, mustard, pickles, and grilled onions from time to time. A burger with a bit of pink is good if you make it yourself or go to a good burger place

Smashed Patties are the stuff, I need to eat them again

I have a little bit of a quirk to me that some people... question. I'm such a massive fan of burgers that as long as it's not burnt beyond recognition or like spoiled or something... I'll eat and probably enjoy it.

Cheap, half frozen burger paddies from the store? Yep.
"Even kids hate these" school burgers? Love 'em.
"Would you try those nasty burgers in a can?" Actual question from my wife... I had to think about it.

So, that established... I'm not sure I have an 'ideal'. I'm partial to mushroom swiss burgers, but sometimes I'm not as in the mood for that as I am for a more classic "American Cheeseburger."

Also, "onion burgers" are amazing. Basically a super thin smash burger with ABSURD amounts of hyper thin onion cooked onto it.

Not a fan of super greasy burgers or 'tower' burgers, though. Big burgers should be wider, not taller.

I love smash burgers with cheese, onion, pickles, mayo and ketchup. Tomatoes are also okay on burgers but it often makes it too messy.

Toasted buns, lettuce, pickles, provolone cheese, grilled onions, and mustard are my go-to toppings for burgers. When I was in college, we had a topping bar by the grill where burgers and cheese steaks were made, and that was also how I discovered that banana peppers are awesome on burgers, but definitely not something I want all the time either.

Seriously??? How in the hell do you even eat that monstrosity? ??
