What's your favourite Shin Megami Tensei/ATLUS game?

I'll go first. Digital Devil Saga. Everything about this game is amazing for me, the side characters are good, the gameplay and building is unlike most SMT games although it's pretty close to what Metaphor ReFantazio got, the story is unique and the OST is always amazing.

Outside of SMT i'd have to pick Persona 2: Innocent Sin, for pretty much the same reasons, except the gameplay. Tatsuya has to be one of my favorite protagonists of all time.

Shin Megami Tensei IV. Music, gameplay, and the atmosphere are just perfect. I don't care if we got 2d battles unlike in SMT III. It reminds me of what a modern look of what SMT 1-2 would look like. I love the music so much I bought the CD soundtrack. Also in my top 5 VG soundtracks of all time.

DMC 3 is not an ATLUS or SMT game. The only thing in DMC 3 that could be related to ATLUS is the devil trigger designs were made by Kazuma Kaneko. like brah

Not a huge persona fan, really only like the 'classic' ones and think p4 is just alright. I prefer mainline smt and spinoffs that stick closer to it. I stand by strange journey being mainline.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I never was able to get into SMT or Persona at all, despite my attempts. Mostly just cases of the games getting lost in the shuffle for others I had interest in. It is what it is.

Never finished it, doesn't feel like sh to me at all. Even outside of that the game play was meh and the story didn't hook me at all. Hbu?
