what's your favourite genre? just, like, in general?

Its kinda hard to put this under one umbrella or name but I just like a story with some form of tragedy or emotional weight to it. The story doesn't have to be melodramatic or anything.

I just care about a narrative the most when it feels that bad things can really happen in them. I like stories where bad things do happen, and it hits hardest when the reality of irreversible damage is not shyed away from.

Fantasy! I loved fantasy for as long as I remember.
And recently I found Ars Magica! I probably would never have a chance to play it, so I just read Ars Magica for fun. I love the setting so much!

Used to be jrpg but now it's probably adventure, followed by action rpg and survival horror.

i looooooooooove psychological horror, i feel like its quite clear from my pfp but still, 90% of media i consume is just psychological horror, i love it when media fucks with my brain and i feel really sad over said media.
bonus if it's sci-fi, i think its aesthetic is just so beautiful, with all its computers and tech and crap, double bonus if it's cyberpunk, i love bright colours so layering that with sci-fi is just... chef's kiss.
triple bonus if it's a dystopia.
Ditto. My God, it's just so good.

Games > RPG, Stealth, anything arcade-y.
Theme > Post apocalypse, I don't really like Fantasy to be honest.
Music > Old hip hop, punk rock, I'm not very knowledgeable about music.
TV shows or Movies > Definitely comedy.
Hentai > Maid, redhead, no fat ugly bastard and preferably no ntr. I'm okay with extreme stuff.

Action, sci-fi/cyberpunk, horror (mainly psychological or semi-grounded), animated films, aventure films, and I am really heavy into martial arts films.

Gaming wise: brawlers, arcade racers, stylish action, survival horror (mainly the over-the-shoulder kind), the occasional puzzle games, and mostly arcade style games in general.

Chiptune because it could be whatever I want it to be XD
real talk though It's a toss up between rouge games or dungeon crawlers. I think I personally prefer dungeon crawlers because just allow for a lot and while I like rouge games they tend to over complicate the controls since a lot of them try to use the whole keyboard where the E key would be enough. Nothing quite beats this feeling for 40 hours with the looming threat of getting your ass whooped by some hallway camper.

For a particular genre in the context of the setting anything that can mix both of these together seamlessly XD

Lately, turn based JRPGs (thank god we are getting a new Final Fantasy game that is going back to its roots) and old school platformers in the style of Mario, Sonic, Spyro, Astro Bot, etc. Most other genres these days I just find annoying, with some exceptions.

For storytelling? I like high fantasy, hard sci-fi, Cyberpunk, psychological horror, and Pulp.

Pulp feels very underappreciated and underrepresented these days. I grew up on stuff like Lee Falk's The Phatom and Alan Moore's Tom Strong. It's also how I try and write when I do find the time to put text to digital paper

Music? I like a ton of electronic genres (namely techno, darkwave, industrial, and EBM) and pretty much anything that catches my auditory fancy. I always looks for a wall of sound, just something that carries a sense of mood

I've a sweet spot for psychedelic and existential storytelling.
