I'm a big fan of The Binding of Isaac. Played all versions, apart from Repentence, because it apparently loses much of what I liked about the games, like the numerous exploits to make ourselves ridiculously overpowered.

I'm also a big fan of Rogue Legacy. Love the inherentance system and the hilarious traits, like gay as "fan of the man". The plataforming and music are also pretty tight!

Neon Abyss is a big generic, combining elements of Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon in a platformer. Pretty fun and annoyingly challenging with the requirements to get to some of the final bosses. Also the last few bosses are pretty tanky. Finished it in normal, but too burned out to give hard a serious try.

How about you?

Not a fan of rogue, but Baroque and Umamusume is two of three rogue I have resemblance of "liking" it.

Can't really say if I got a favorite but here's some I really did have fun with.

GetsuFumaDen - Undying Moon
Yasha - Legends of the Demon Blade.

Still haven't played the big ones like Hades and Dead Cells though.
And if it counts, The M.O.M. Mode in Guilty Gear XX ACPR and Abyss Mode in Blazblue.::fire

If Poke Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue Count for Rogue-Lites then 100% them ::chocobo-wave

I don't tend to be too in to these genres unless there's something really compelling about it. It needs to be expansive enough to support multiple unique playstyles, and not just something where I'm chasing the one winning build and reset spamming if I don't get it.

In comes One Way Heroics. This is by far one of the funniest and most expansive games I've ever played, with multiple different endings, too many secrets for me to find, and a ridiculous amount of supported playstyles, all for less than a dollar on sale.

My favorite playstyle was the Hero class, entering ultra-instinct mode, being able to punch enemies 3-8 times in a row before they even have time to react. Only problem is no NPC will ever speak to you again since you forfeit being able to wear any clothes.

NetHack is my favorite for sure. Its gameplay may not always flow the best, but it's got an unmatched level of depth.

If I have to play one because I like it, I would try to find cheats to reverse engineer the roguelike essence, so dying is comfortable. Or else, I would make it to never die, so I can enjoy it because of the story and not because of the difficulty.

The Mystery Dungeon and Shiren the Wanderer series, i simply like they being both as unfair as Roguelikes while being far more accesible than the rest of the genre

A obscure one i like is From The Abyss on DS, you get a full Secret of Mana-like combat system, unique to the genre

Rogue Legacy is the game that got me into the genre. Hades is probably one of the best.

Enter the gungeon, risk of rain 2, gunfire reborn.
