Alright, what’s your ultimate 90’s man cave? I’m talking full-on Sega, Doom, and PS1 vibes. The room where you’d spend all your time after school (or work), locked into Streets of Rage or Doom for hours on end.

A big CRT TV sits in the corner, hooked up to your Sega Genesis for Streets of Rage and Mortal Kombat. Your PS1’s there too, with Tekken 3 and Resident Evil 2 lined up. That classic sound of the PlayStation disc spinning as the game kicks off.

The carpet’s thick and deep, a faded red or black—something that feels worn in, like it’s been part of the scene for years. A solid, broken-in leather chair that’s seen its share of late-night sessions, always right there when the game gets intense.
Walls are covered in posters—Killer Instinct, Doom art, Street Fighter II, and maybe a few rock band posters because it’s the 90s, and that’s the vibe. A couple of band tees tossed around, the smell of cologne—Drakkar Noir or Spice—hanging in the air.

The furniture’s low and laid back. A sleek, black couch that could handle those long sessions, maybe even doubling as a bed when the night stretches on. A mini-fridge stocked with Mountain Dew, some pizza, and whatever you need to keep the momentum going. Nothing fancy, just the essentials.

What does your dream setup look like? Hit me with your vision.

Hmm... I was a big Gargoyles fan back in the day (then disney f*cked up season 3 after they threw Greg Wisemen off, then shut it down, RIP). So some large Gargoyles posters of favorite characters

iu

, along with some franchise games i loved in the day. FF7, Phantasy Star, Chrono Trigger...

Hmm if i could really get it, i'd love a full wall-sized epaper or similar screen, and have it set to cycle concept art, drawings and extras from any game sources i had, almost like a living wallpaper like Rorschach's Mask.

I am very frugal and I am satisfied with little. A well-heated white room without furniture, warm and soft lights, a nice large, soft and comfortable bed and ....................... my dear, sweet and passionate fiancee ?: and you can imagine the rest:
??
And to hell with video games!!! ?

I'd like:
  • A 90-inch big-screen TV set, preferably the most expensive one available on the market in 1999, hooked up to a "greatest hits" collection of 20th-century film and television DVDs (the first DVDs started appearing in 1996/1997, so they count),
  • A lovely white-trim fabric furniture set, complete with king-sized bed and 90s-era family-sized sofa,
  • A high-quality printer that can provide physical evidence for an unlimited amount of Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft stock,
  • All G1, Beast Wars, and Scramble City-era Transformers figures in American, Japanese, and European variants, in mint-in-box condition,
  • Fully-functioning 3DO, CDi, and Playstation video game consoles, plus all games released up to 2000 and associated composite cables,
  • A photorealistic, fully-sentient android replica of Baywatch-era Pamela Anderson who will never age or deteriorate in any way,
  • Enough 90s-era food, beverages, and alcohol to prevent me from starving for ~80 years, preferably prepared and served by a fat jive-talking chef who provides insightful witticisms on 90s culture and politics, and
  • All copies of Animerica magazine, again in mint condition.
Please, Santa, bring me the above. I've been very good this year. ?

I'd like...

- A large TV where I can hook up RF and A/V cables.

- A large space underneath where my NES, Genesis, PS1, Dreamcast, Famicom and VHS player can sit snuggly.

- A bookshelf full of games, records and CDs.

- A second bookshelf full of gaming magazines.

- A computer corner with a Pentium III in it.

- A stack of VHS tapes.

Dream 90s room...... Here's picts (used my phone to take a picture of an actual printed picture) of my actual room in 1999-2000. The place is dripping with episode 1 merch.

So many fun posters, magazine clippings, and those glow in the dark stickers all over walls.

CRT with PS1 and VCR at the end of the bed. Big old tower of CDs with a book of CDs on top, almost all copied PS1 games. I had one of the early systems that played burnt games without need of modding. Ithink you can see a gameshark peeking out from the back of the PS1.

Wood panelling walls, old ass computer, shelves of pokemon and star wars merch, bb gun leaning against it. i miss that dog :(

sigh.....

Back in the 90s, my dream room would've been a big CRT, a good PC that can run games like Unreal and Quake 2, an array of game consoles such as a NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1 etc. That's not terribly far off from what I actually had, although I had to share the consoles and PC with my parents.

I'd want an arcade cabinet or two also, if we're dreaming. A SSF2T cab and a Metal Slug cab.

Go to sleep lil bro

Modded Japanese arcade cabinet with access to 3K+ games.

A dedicated setup and monitor to play Tate mode shooters /shmups.

A room that's always the perfect temperature, hard floors with nice rugs that are easy to clean. A table and chairs for tabletop games, a nook with a couch and TV for consoles.

We pretty much already have the space it's just so hot in the summer because it's an attic.
