Try Final Fantasy VII on PS1. I suggest using the translation by Green Goblin.
FFVII is the greatest RPG on PSX, but some people disagree on the greatness, the RPG classification, and calling the console PSX.

If you're gonna be one of those people, I guess all that's left is playing Ridge Racer Type 4.

If you want some good PSP recommendations, check out the fan translation for Kurohyou 1 and 2 on the repo, Omegapunch recommended pretty much every other good PSP game so there's that.
Also, check out Golden Sun on GBA if you haven't, great RPG.
