What's the one thing that the weakest entry in your favourite series does better than any other entries ?

I love all four of the Arkham games but Origins is what I would consider the weakest. However it has by far the best boss fights in the series like Bane, Deathstroke, Copperhead, etc to name a few ( I would even count Electrocutioner). City had solid bosses especially the great Mr. Freeze fight though I still overall prefer Origins' bosses. Asylum's bosses weren't all that impressive and Knight was more concerned with tank battles.

Megaman 8 has the best visuals of any classic game in my opinion.
I’m grateful lost frontier actually concluded the Jak storyline instead of letting it go on forever.
Size matters has the most interesting gimmicks.
Megaman X6 has some of my favorite stage music.

Hm... I'm not sure weakest by which metric you mean, but I suppose if I had to point any one entry as the weakest regarding Monster Hunter, it would probably be Monster Hunter Tri (the base Wii version, not the 3DS/WiiU improved re-releases).

It's not a bad game objectively but it cut a lot of weapons that had been present since Monster Hunter 2 (they would later be reinstated in Portable Third and the Ultimate versions of Tri) and introduced underwater combat, something highly divisive and never seen since).

That said, it is admirable in the sense that it represented the first big leap for the series in visual quality, monster design and moveset, as well as a innovative ranged weapon system that hasn't been used since.

Not sure if that properly answers your question, but it's what I got.

Personal metric I presume.
Unless you’re asking what “weakest” entails here. I believe it’s just another word for worst but YMMV.

Yeah weakest would be subjective and vary from person to person. I should've written least favourite instead since that works better here.

Budokai 1 has a more complete story mode with cutcenes and everything, unlike 3 that is going to a battle, read some text and fight. And budokai 2 has more "fan service" because there's a lot of secret fusions. For example Goku with Mr satan or Super Buu with freezer (or perfect cell) and those fusions don't appear neither in 3 nor Infinite World or in another DBZ game to this date.

I loved MGS V, even though it was incomplete; I think MGS V's story is not that good, however, the open world, the weapons, the stealth system, in my opinion the game has the best mechanics in the series. And I really enjoyed Clock Tower 2: Struggle within, I think it's scarier than the first game, and it is certainly scarier than 3 (3 being Sailor Moon meets Clock Tower).
Also, Final Fantasy 2 is amazing, but don't play the NES version (unless is hacked/fixed), play the PSP or GBA versions; man, I love that level up system, and the story is my favorite.

the luck stat in persona 1 has a chance of summoning an op persona during battle

leveling up in final fantasy 2 is like playing oblivian
You know, FF2 has grown on me a lot over the years. I think it has a better overall narrative than some of the later entries and, assuming you are playing from the GBA version onward, the mechanical oversights are mostly fixed (like getting stat downs on the opposite stat you raised, like in the NES version, or having to smash your own skull to get HP).

yeah, i had a lot of fun revisiting ff2 with the pixel remaster; i personally think it benefits from the more cohesive art direction. ff3 on famicom, to me, is where they nailed the design for the hardware

I still rate FF2 GBA higher and PR because one does not simply remove Soul of Rebirth from FF2, it's a true contributor for the plot, not just some tacked in extra like in other FF Advance versions, but I do like the PR sprites.

As for FF3, it's my favorite of the first trilogy overall (though the vanilla balance is poor). I like playing with the Neoclassical rebalance hack because it keeps every class viable throughout instead of forcing you to go Sage, Sage, Ninja, Ninja by the end game.

dawn of souls on gba was phenomenal! totally agree!

I'm not entirely sure what my favourite series is, so I'll just pick a franchise I like that's had quite a few entries. So for the Deus Ex series, the weakest entry would easily be Invisible War. But the thing that it did better than any other game in the series IMO, would have to be the shadows. I just love hard shadows man.

My favorite game franchise is the megami tensei games and it's spinoffs. The "weakest entry" in my opinion is Last bible 1 on the game gear. It doesn't compare to the Latest entries of any of the megami tensei games or spinoffs, but it's story is still good. Give it better gameplay, graphics, audio and change bits and pieces of the story and people would be hooked. But we all know Altus won't do that😔😔😔😔😔

Thoughts on VV?

There's ragdoll physics on Deus Ex - Invisible War.

You can also hide bodies much more easily and effectively, something that was bothersome in the original and strangely absent on the third one.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix has Challenge Land, which introduces new flavors of difficulty to the game other than just trying to Perfect everything. "Monster Goal" is my favorite type of challenge. The screen size reduction is both comical and on par with how some minigames love to throw visual distractions at you.

The first Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is the worst of them all. Holy crap, i can't stand the writing in this one, by far worse cases in my humble opinion.
Shi long lang have a bit better presence here than Investigations 2, that's the only thing i concede xD

In my opinion MGS V have the best gameplay overall but the worst group of bosses.

I'm currently playing the first investigations game and have finished the third case. I agree the cases so far have been sub-par. Hope the cases are better in the second investigations game since I've heard great things about it.

Second investigations is a great game, you'll notice this strongly even in the first case. Miles edgeworth is a very good character and deserve a remarkable game.
Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
