What's the oldest anime you like?

The oldest one I can vividly recall watching would be Ouran High School Host Club, but I think I watched an episode or two of Astro Boy when I was barely conscious.
I remember watching OHSCH through dubious youtube videos because I didn't know that "very legal" anime sites existed.

I would say Hokuto no Ken / Fist of the Northstar too

BUT there is another anime that was sadly not continued and brought me to the Manga i love to read .
DEVILMAN

While the Dub is bad , somehow like it very much and even ANTHEM borrowed one of their Kick-ass songs to it !

Devilman is my Vibe ! ( sadly dissapointed with the new anime but it wasnt bad )

Well the first anime I watched was Robotech. At the time my five year old self had no idea what anime was or that the show was a cobbled together frankenanime. But it was a gateway drug nonetheless.

Probably Gatchaman (Oct 1st 1972)
Followed by Mazinger Z (Dec 3rd 1972)
Followed by Great Mazinger (Sept 8th 1974)

My first ever Halloween costume was Great Mazinger

Aim for the Ace from 1973. one of my all time favourites period. fantastic sports and shoujo anime that absolutely flourishes from all the excess dramatic stings to work around its budget constraints. Highly influential series too, most directly with Gainax's seminal Gunbuster starting off as a mecha parody of it.
I just wish the later seasons from the 80s had better subtitle options so I could properly finish the whole series, though the note the first one ends on is plenty satisfying as is.

In case we factor in anime movies then:

The Stolen Lump (1929)

In case we strictly talking anime television shows then Tetsuwa Atom (Astro Boy).

Taiyou no Ouji: Horus no Daibouken, or Horus: Prince of the Sun.
This was the first film from Takahata Isao I think, and it's one of the first anime I remember watching.

the wonderful world of puss'n boots

Hokuto no Ken for me too. Though I'm going to go back and watch Ranma 1/2 1989 beginning to end in the next few weeks. I'd only seen up to season 3 back then. Not gonna watch the remake till I finish the original.

There's quite a few actually.
Obviously Speed Racer by Tatsuo Yoshida is probably the most well known of them.
But the one I truly love from the old ones is Search Of The Ninja: The Legend of Kamui by Sanpei Shirato. Just like Gundam it gets pretty grim and very real really fast. His main influences appear to be Akira Kurosawa and the particular Japanese veiew of socialism halfway through the twentieth century. Plus his relatively simple and very opaque work in dry pastel colors is presented as a mix between the late pulp and early squiggly line comics set in the old west and traditional Heian art with multiple shades of red, yellow and brown.
And just in case anyone is wondering how it looks like. Here's the manga:

And here's the Anime:
The Search of the Ninja

Started watching Lupin the 3rd (1970's) after finishing Persona 5.

Sally the Witch (1967) I also have the manga

I believe the oldest anime I've consumed is a Kiki's Delivery Service VHS tape.
