So I found out about ASF a couple of weeks ago and I've been farming trading cards almost daily ever since. I have like 4 days left of non-stop farming, but I have managed to get some money out of some trading cards already. I was very lucky to get a couple of foil trading cards which were expensive enough for me to get to 15 USD dollars in less than a week, so yesterday I bought three games: Paranormasight, Fable: The Lost Chapters and Final Fantasy VIII. All of them were quite cheap, especially the older games, but I'm happy I could get those 3 for "free".

I once saw a Twitter thread where a guy was trying to sell enough trading cards to buy a Steam Deck. People were helping him, so he kind of cheated, but still. I don't know if he ever got the Steam Deck though.

Anyways, what's your most expensive game bought solely with trading card money?

Not strictly trading cards, but last year I bought Baldur's Gate 3 by selling a handful of trading cards and some old santa hat from TF2.

From selling trading cards, the only ones I remember are Alien Isolation, and the OST for Mystia's Izakaya (at the time it only had 2 OST packs).

Cards specifically, I don't know. The thing I will have bought by flipping cards, crates, and skins will be the upcoming Steam Machine. No idea what the price is, but it will happen.

I've only ever made enough to buy more trading cards. Though, I'm not an avid Counterstrike player, so I doubt I'll ever casually make enough money to actually buy a game with Steam fun money bux.

I didn't even know you could do this.
Wait until you find out there are bots that can not only farm the cards for you, but also sell them or trade them!

Good luck friend. Let me know if you end up buying it.

I think the most I've had at any given time is like $2, but I'll use that to buy some title I've never heard of and see if it's cool. I kinda wonder now, if I went through all the games I still have card drops for and let them build up, how much I could scrape together.

Can't really do that....

I think at one point i used some of the trading card money to pay part of the price for a game (paid the other amount with real money), dont remember which game or how much lol

Hope it makes sense, so i never bought an entire game with that money, even tho i guess i could with the discounts sometimes

I have a ton of trading cards in my inventory from games I've bought over the years. I only traded/bought cards at one point just to get a badge that went well with my profile.

I haven't been logging into Steam lately. My PC is so old, there are hardly any games I can find now that will work on it. (Most of my gaming is on Playstation and emulation)

I'm curious if you can do it indefinitely. Won't your trading stop once you're out of all the cards you got from your games? (Without buying a new game)

Yes indeed, you either trade and complete your set or sell the cards, and they won't come back, a game can only drop so many cards after all. Theoretically you can get booster packs from time to time, but actually receiving one is very unlikely unless your Steam level is 100 and above.

Garry's Mod probably? That was when I didn't have a debit card or that much money. I had to buy gift cards or go to those machines that let you convert money into digital currency.
