What's the hardest boss in video gaming?

For me, there's 2 bosses that come to mind where I genuinely had a tough time. The first, like a few others have already mentioned, is Malenia from Elden Ring who, and I'm not joking, took me damn near a day and a half, almost a whole weekend to beat on my first play-through (But damn was it satisfying when I finally beat her).

The second is the Lingering Will from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.

Holy shit. You wanna talk about a boss that really puts your skills to the test? This is the guy. To be fair, it is a secret post-game boss fight, so you can tell they fully intended this fight to be for anyone who feels they've mastered the combat system of KH2, because this guy will pull every trick in the book to try and put you down (And he will. Over and over and over...), but similar to Malenia's fight; once you beat him you really feel like you're on top of the world.

i streamed myself fighting this guy for first time to my friends, everyone was laughing about how badly i was getting my ass kicked. imo, he's easier on critical (w/leveling) since everything takes easy mode damage.

Drakengard 3 final boss because its a shitty rhythm game that has nothing to do with anything the game throws at you before it and unlike the Drakengard 1 version of it, you can't even see the notes and it goes on for much longer

Good work if ya did manage it! I still haven't beaten Lingering Will... ::cirnoshrug

like sephiroth and the data-battles it takes memorization and method.
At least with the data fights there's some exploits you can use to breeze through some of them if you want, and Sephiroth isn't that bad once you know his attack strings and patterns follow a certain order, but with Lingering Will his attack strings are completely random in how he throws them out, so you've gotta memorize like 20 different attacks and how to deal with each one on the fly. Definitely helps to have all your Drive abilities maxed out as well.

Personally I'd say DMC3 Vergil 3 on Dante Must Die (even on the game's Very Hard difficulty before that) Man. I don't think there's any other boss fight that's made my hands feel so absolutely broken in the aftermath, fighting games included... at least none that I've been that deeply invested in beating just to prove to myself that I can.

I'm not too sure which video game boss that's the hardest, but if I had to name one, that'll be Dark Falz, from the first Phantasy Star game (that released on the Sega Master System). If you are clueless enough but managed to get to fight it, it'll one hit kill the entire party. I have gone strategizing for few hours back then, and ended with no luck until I opened the walkthrough (which breaks the purely helpless/blind run), and I missed a crystal that actually essential for the game.
In the end, I won, but with the cost that I got spoilered.
I know it's not the hardest boss out there, but sure why not.

Shinobi (PS2) has a pretty tough final boss, particularly if you're playing on the Super difficulty and trying for a tate finish and an S rank...with Hotsuma

I think I gained some white hairs before I finally pulled it off.

I had an awful time with Nameless King in Dark Souls 3.

I try to git gud and take on DS bosses solo when I can, but there was no way I was doing this one without help.
