Here’s my list:

The Last of Us - It’s nothing but a constant fight for survival. Infected everywhere, Literally almost every survivor is trying to kill/enslave you, Prison ca- er I mean Quarantine Zones run by a corrupt government organization, and society has crumbled.

Sonic - Seems like a pretty boring world to live in honestly. Also the fact that the world almost ended several times throughout the series.

Dark Souls - Also a constant fight for survival. Everyone and everything wants you dead.

Animal Crossing - Where’s the fun in a normal mundane life?

Silent Hill - You will never know what you’re seeing is real or not before it’s too late

Killzone - Just constant war and fight for survival.

Any horror games, I'm not gonna wake up having a ghost playing tricks on my door just for it to jumpscare me afterwards::angrygenjin

Silent Hill, Reliving my traumas everyday doesn't sound pleasant to say the least.

Harvest Moon -- it's either working by doing backbreaking, physical labor from dawn til dusk or dying hungry, scared and alone.

It's a little too real a scenario for me.

Mad Max - Yes there was a game for people don't know or forgot

It seems like every kind of apocalypse possible happened in that world and all at once. The only human beings left alive are mostly ugly and dirty people. The landscape is mostly a wasteland. And the overall IQ of humanity seems to have fallen significantly. A barren world low on resources and full of ugly and stupid people. Oh, and there's also the fact that everywhere you go you are likely to find people trying to kill you. No thanks.

Evil Dead - Again, there are games so I'm not cheating.

The Deadites are terrifying and the fact that so many people become them implies that the souls of most people in the Evil Dead universe go to hell

Mega Man - Humanity eventually ceases to exist if you follow the whole timeline of the franchise, and that's after having to endure all types of robot AI wars and horrors. Thanks a lot Dr. Light for starting all that. Asshole.

Lightning Returns - It's been a while since I've played that game, but I remember the storyline revolving around everyone essentially waiting for the end. It was an apocalyptic scenario where everyone was miserable and depressed knowing that they all had no future.

Beyond Good and Evil - If you're a conspiracy minded person you might find the elements of the game's story especially disturbing. Media propaganda and military control, all to hide the fact that people are being kidnapped and used by aliens (including children). For all its colorful and cartoon style visuals, BG&E is actually a very disturbing game.

the sims: a mysterious entity would force me to do increasingly unhinged things until it got bored and drowned me in the pool

Final Fantasy VI would be awful to live in after Kefka crashes out. Mother 3 after Porky takes over is also just abhorrent. Chrono Trigger and Live A Live are horrible across all of their time periods, especially the future. OFF sounds like it would be absolutely miserable to be a normal person in. In Breath of Fire II, I'd probably fall for the Church of St. Eva and get my soul sucked out. In Breath of Fire III, the Desert of Death spreads across the whole world after Myria's death, and presumably kills thousands as a result.

The absolute worst one that comes to mind though is Fallout, for very obvious reasons. It was designed to be hell to live in.

As much as there is many cons to living in the Fallout universe, just like many of the in universe characters you’d pretty much get used to living in the wasteland after a while. The only downside is no AC lol

Any zombie series really. Resident Evil would be terrifying based on how many outbreaks there's been in that particular canon. You wouldn't be truly safe anywhere really. Dead Rising would be bad too because you'd know about zombies by Zombrex and incidents like Fortune City.

Is there really any videogame where it would be good to live in? I mean, even Animal Crossing has its downsides (Eternally in debt with a racoon sounds not good, even if he is very lax with the payments).

LISA: No women means everybody is horny ASF, the only food aviable is beef jerky and the only drinks are various kinds of booze, the only thing that give people a reason to exists is a literal drug that mutates you eventually and genetics aside, a single girl won't restore humanity even if she were inmortal

Metal Slug: for all the goofyness of the games post 2/X, the game is in a constant war, war instigated over the corruption of the governments, aliens invade the world often and friggin DEATH or whatever the fuck Deathscythe is means military won't keep us safe for long

Pokemon: Sorry to pop your bubble 8yo. me, but a world where lizards spit fire, orbs explode at will, ghosts can poison you and the Mafia has enough resources to clone the world's Jesus means the only reason the games feel safe comes from the E Rating

Post X Megaman: Roboracism and a virus leads to constant uprising of machines in a tech-reliant setting, ¿Need to say more?

OFF: Ghosts are making havoc constantly in a world that aparently isn't even real, instead being a facsimile crudely recreated of a world, oh and a literal switch press means everything flaout DIES

(deleted my previous take because I completely misread the thread lmao)

People are already replied with games/series where I 100% agree I would hate to live in there. But if I gotta one where I would be terrified is definitely Metaphor Re:Fantazio considering how it tells and shows how brutal discrimination and racism are.

Lightning Returns - It's been a while since I've played that game, but I remember the storyline revolving around everyone essentially waiting for the end. It was an apocalyptic scenario where everyone was miserable and depressed knowing that they all had no future.

Yeah, that sounds like Majora's Mask. Play it if you never did.

it all depends if i have the abilities of the protagonist or if i'm just a random bystander. regardless however, living in the s.t.a.l.k.e.r. universe would SUCK!
