What's a game you got because you watched some youtuber play it?

Not a single game. But once in my life I got a game after watching some one else play it on a stream and it was back in 2011 I got minecraft because watching a streamer play it and it looked super fun.

But yeah I don´t buy games because a content creator tells me to or says it super good. Because the only person I mostly trust is my self and trying a demo or try the game in any other way if I can.

A Video Game Reviewer of South America called F.A.P Bros taugh me about the existence of a legitimally good Cuphead "Ripoff" that i still play every often

Not really watch youtube for game videos unless it is a "how to get this in game thing". Normally I check out the websites of the developers for new games....or check out pie rates sites to see most popular or newest and check them out. Gamepass was previous way to check out games, but I'm not wasting my money on Microsoft anymore....

A decent amount in the past but not as many any more I'd say.

I got Garry's Mod because of the old DasBoSchitt machinimas. Uberhaxornova got me trying Happy Wheels for myself. I may have not even tried Silent Hill so early if it wasn't for LordVega or Resident Evil or Parasite Eve if not for AdamSchwartze. The whole reason I tried out Persona PSP when I did was because of TotalBiscuit talking about Persona 4 Golden for the Vita and me thinking why not try it out from the start (which I'm glad I did).

These days though it'd be less contemporary games just based on what I watch on Youtube now compared to back then.

The only time i ever played a game due to a Youtuber was when Running Shine made a Klonoa video. And i don't regret it a single bit, since Klonoa 1 and 2 are my favorite 2D platformers now.

I clicked on a video about “niche” retro rpgs and I saw Hybrid Heaven for N64 that me wanting to give it a try. I glad that I did because it’s one is really niche.

Death Mark and it's sequels. ManlyBadassHero usually does a lot of one offs and indies and seeing it as a full game I bought and played it despite watching him play it in full I too wanted to play it on my own time and screen shared with a friend for horror nights gaming. One of my fondest memories in gaming.

"Unreal Life". It was very popular in the VTuber community about a couple years ago and I thought it looked awesome. I eventually played it and had a blast. The puzzles were creative, the story was engaging and the soundtrack is amazing.

Frankly, I find most let's play types annoying and obnoxious. I think I've outgrown that stuff.

However, I do appreciate helpful, instructional videos as well as watching simple displays of skill like a good no damage video. Instructional videos are helpful and skillful gameplay is actually entertaining to watch unlike watching some vain, narcissistic, doofus let's player bumble their way through a game. This guy's videos helped me a lot when playing through the original Ninja Gaiden II on the Xbox 360

I got into Cave's shmups after binge watching some The Electric Underground videos. He's just so passionate it's contagious

Deadly Premonition. I forget who it was off the top of my head, but I remember watching someone talk about it and then I fell in love with it not too long after I played it.
oddly enough it was lowtax who put me onto deadly premonition. later i would watch a 100% playthrough by supergreatfriend.

I got Swat 4 due to watching Someordinarygamer's videos on it which was a long time ago.

I got the 2016 Hitman game becasuse of Outside Xbox.
Yeah, Oxbox also got me into the Two Point games hehe
If I had more online friends, they might also have gotten me to try out Jackbox :loldog

Cyberpunk 2077.

I believe it was The Spiffing Brit who got an early copy of it. And well, with all the glorious glitches and fuckups the game had, I absolutely pre-ordered it solely because it was a total mess.

I Regret nothing!

My friend and I booted up their unpatched release PS4 copy of Cyberpunk a few months ago and we had so much fun with it:loldog

In 2013/2014 or so, i watched so many random gameplays of The Binding Of Isaac Flash and since then i got fascinated by that game and the concept of the roguelike genre.

As far as I can remember, there are 2 games that I know from YouTube that I'm interested to play.

1. Shadowmatic.
It's a puzzle game with the objective to make a silhouette of something, out of very abstract objects. I know this because while I stumbled upon YouTube, and there's one playthrough channel that I completely forgot, highlighting this game. I like it because of the concept, and while it's confusing at first, I somehow enjoyed it despite I only played the "lite" version of it.

2. Dere Evil .Exe (I may be messed up with the name).
It's a 2D platformer game with extra spices of horror elements along the plot. If I remembered correctly, I discovered it by watching Markiplier, I might be wrong with this since I only vaguely remember. At first, it's overwhelmingly good in terms of gameplay and graphics (It's that time when I like pixel art), but now, it's quite generic, at least for myself. This game also what makes AppSir, becoming one of my favorite developer out there. Their games is connected to each other, even though it's only for a moderately short time. I recommended to check them out.

My process is usually: I read some news of a game, I watch the gameplay without any face nor stupid commentaries from the person playing, then if I like it I buy it.

If the game is old I try to buy it if it has a price second hand not higher than it had when it was released new. Otherwise, I might or might not play it.

i played Deus Ex (2000) because of Warlockracy and Sseth.

I played Fallout: New Vegas because of HBomberGuy

I can't remember the YT'er in question but the game in question was Hatoful Boyfriend. It looked rather amusing and thought to give it a try.

I also got Tyrian (although, it is freeware and has been for a really long time now) because of Ross Scott.
