Sonic Heroes is actually a pretty cool game & has that 2000s edge, but I'll meet you halfway & agree with Sonic Colors. Also Sonic Unleashed (like the recent PC port) has some of the most cringiest, discount-Pixar writing & NPC character designs known to man.
Can't really get embarrassed by games but god darn it, some games & events just make me roll my eyes.

I don't think anime games count. They're in their own little bubble!

I think a better example would be like, when you're playing a game, & then out of nowhere it breaks out into singing with vocals, either in-game or through OST. I bet a lot of people were questioning Balan Wonderland!

Most of the Etrian Odyssey games. They have some pretty questionable character designs.

I guess it depends on a per-game basis. For this series in particular I play these with pride! It would be like saying "I don't play SMT in public because of some demons"...err, minus Mara.

I think... Boogie! (even though I love it) because it's very awkward having to jam like crazy to some of the most sickenly sweet rock and pop hymns the world has to offer.

It's actually quite funny because the game makes you rock your butt like it's playing Metallica while Britney Spears comes through the speakers XD

I'm also red-faced embarrassed by the dialogue and cutscenes on most RPGs out there, even though I also love them.

I have a Hello Kitty game for the Gamecube (Roller Rescue), the game is fun but it was given to me in my birthday as a prank gift, i still play it, but only when alone

Arc Rise Fantasia, not for the anything horny, but because the dub is... *crumples in cringe*
Also i definitively enjoy Dead Or Alive for the fun fighting mechanics...yeah

It's not embarrassment playing it but from playing them outside of home like a quick break at work or at the library. Sometimes I want to read otome trash and laugh at bad plot points or smile at actually good writing for a small gesture of comfort or love. Sometimes I want to be a little girly and these games with sparkly nonsense scratches that itch before I go back to shit talking RPG bosses or try not to reset during challenge runs too early. FFX-2? Sonic Heroes? Cutesy Farm Sims? Nah I play that out in public without a care.

beatmania IIDX sometimes surprises you with awkward fanservicey videos depending on what song you select, since its an arcade game it can be embarassing. some of these were even removed for the PS2 games so they could keep the all ages rating

I immediately thought of "Moero Crystal" for Vita

I played the main story (no post-game because in the end I got fed up with the fanservice) because for me it was a cool idea having lots of different characters (with different design and skills) from which you could choose for your party. A Pokemon-like mechanic inserted in a dungeon crawler, plus I like anime girls illustrations... BUT I felt embarassed with the rub minigame, I was like "looking somewhere else and trying to finish it as soon as possible".

I've played h-games that have made me feel less ashamed than Moero Crystal. I respect the level of filth that game has while not being an adult game. It's impressive.

When I was 14, Kingdom Hearts was my favourite thing ever. Catching a stream of the first game not that long ago, I was FLOORED by just how awkwardly a lot of the Japanese humour is translated into English in a way where, sure if you watch enough anime you get what the comedic timing is supposed to be... but BOY does it not work in early 2000s video game dubbing as spoken by Donald Duck.

Parts of Persona 5's writing meaning everything with Ann's story and anything Morgana says while being a creep about Ann? Had a hard time with those two elements. Still haven't finished that game largely because of how irritating Morgana is.

Also that Kingdom Hearts video is premium. I'm replaying KH2.5 right now and I'm at that exact part. The shame I feel is overwhelming...
