my personal favorites gotta be xenogears, 1998. when turn based combat feels tired n samey, xenogears says "do mortal kombat combos to win"

Xenogears too, but I also love Mother 3 even though I didn't play it until much later, because I was too young to play it when its fan translation was released.

i also loved what mother 3 did for turn based combat. rhythm based action in a traditional turn based setting was such a good idea

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is also another game that I love very much, but I was very young when it was released, I ended up playing it on Nintendont on my Wii and I fell in love with it.

clearly a lady of taste. another one i got to play a bit more recently that i couldn't before was the gamecube version of tales of symphonia. changed me, just like mother 3 did

Great! Well have you play IGI1 I beat the game with cheat code make you invisible. Game was so hard because it didn't had any check point.
note: I never play that game play "AZAN" when you killing people(igi on Iraq I think it was)

Well I play it and I use AK as snipe there! Yep they make a horrifying mistake there.
You didn't lose something great.game had a lot of problems.
No one remember it now. But I still know it as funny game. For snipe part.

I don't think I have any favorite game that got released before 1988, the oldest one I like is probably Commandos or Carmageddon 2, both out in 1998.
