my personal favorites gotta be xenogears, 1998. when turn based combat feels tired n samey, xenogears says "do mortal kombat combos to win"
i also loved what mother 3 did for turn based combat. rhythm based action in a traditional turn based setting was such a good ideaXenogears too, but I also love Mother 3 even though I didn't play it until much later, because I was too young to play it when its fan translation was released.

i grew up with w bunch of those plug n play systems, i had an atari and that namco one, and a couple othersOpd game I didn't played??? Not translated Japanese games and som old atari ones. I still have my old atari which play tetris and some other games only.
Well I playing final fantasy tactics now so I know what you mean.I also really love Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy IX, but they were released way before I was born. I only ended up playing them much later and they became some of my favorite games of all time.

I've never played it.Great! Well have you play IGI1I beat the game with cheat code make you invisible. Game was so hard because it didn't had any check point.
note: I never play that game play "AZAN" when you killing people(igi on Iraq I think it was)
