What would Sony have to do to make you buy a PS6?

I'm not sure what advantage the PS6 could really offer. Sony's output has slowed considerably, both because games take more time to make and because they've shelved or scrapped at least a few live service games. What even is the Playstation identity? In the PS1-PS3 era, it was a pretty good mix of genres. Even outside of the first-party stuff they were the console that had RPGs and stuff like Resident Evil. The last two generations saw them dump the quirky Japanese stuff and focus way more on making flagship Western games that are largely single-player and narrative-heavy. They somehow thought abandoning that and diving headfirst into offering a bunch of different live service games would be easy to do. Is that the direction they're going to continue to head? They're also slowly releasing their games on PC, so the factor of having exclusive games becomes less important.

As long as it's a more powerful box that ain't too expensive, I think they'll be fine. People locked into that ecosystem with games and friends trapped in the PS network who just want to keep playing Fortnite or the latest 2K game or Call of Duty will upgrade. If they stray from reasonable pricing, well who knows what might happen. All I know is they will keep making them, since it's the main moneymaker for Sony if I'm not mistaken. Way different from Microsoft, for which Xbox is kinda just a drop in the bucket profits-wise.

Acho que o PS5 é uma decepção.

Não me interpretem mal: é uma potência gráfica, e o PS5 tem uma ou duas vantagens significativas sobre seu antecessor, principalmente o desempenho superior e a ventilação aprimorada. Ele também vem equipado com o que é indiscutivelmente o melhor controle moderno do mercado, o DualSense.

Mas para cada passo em frente, houve uma concessão igual ou maior.

Possuo todos os consoles domésticos da PlayStation, exceto o PS3, então posso dizer que sou um fã da Sony de longa data e fiel à marca. No entanto, sem dúvida, o PS5 foi (pelo menos para mim) o lançamento mais decepcionante da empresa.

Para aqueles que compartilham dessa opinião, ou para qualquer pessoa que não tenha demonstrado interesse nos consoles da Sony ultimamente, minha pergunta é: o que o PlayStation 6 precisaria fazer para conquistar o seu suado dinheiro?

Sem dúvida, vai custar mais do que o PS5, então provavelmente estaremos falando de algo entre 700 e 800 dólares.

Que funcionalidades o PS6 precisaria ter para te convencer a comprar um?

Se abaixassem o preço dos jogos no console porque os jogos são absurdamente caros e principalmente se tivesse compatibilidade com os consoles de Playstation anteriores. Mesmo com tudo isso eu não sei se valeria a pena comprar um PS6 sinceramente, qual preço vocês acham que o PS6 vai ter?

yeah sadly i think mascots are more and more a thing of the past ( with the expection of mario or sonic.. )

True... Even Crash Bandicoot and Master Chief stopped being mascots (Naughtydogs are focused on TLOU and their next projects).

The PS5 is actually boring me whether its just me or whatever i play my Series S a lot more and emulate my games on mini PC. I used to enjoy getting the PS4 monthly games now theyve stopped that. Series S is easier moved room to room i feel like the PS5 is gonna break apart everytime i move it somewhere

Make it modular so I can easily add on things or remove/replace things I don't like, have the games be physical and at 20$ as a standard, make me able to mess with game files and OS easily.

Actually keep their exclusives exclusive. Almost bought a PS4 for FFVIIR. It was ported to PS5. Then to PC. That's cool because I have a pretty good PC, but now I don't have an incentive to get a PS4/PS5.

Considering how expensive PC parts are about to get, I don't think it'll take much aside from a remotely reasonable price point. The affordability argument is about to get soooooo much more enticing if things keep going to shit in tech (and I see no reason why it won't).

That said, I'm becoming so disillusioned with modern gaming on the whole that aside from indies and middle market games that will most likely be fine on my Switch 2 or the eventually Steam Deck 2. Not sure if I'll care enough about any AAA to feel the need to get another console, as sad as it is to say. Got an endless backlog of dope stuff from gaming's past and at this point I'll be able to outfit all my systems with ODE and everdrives to play on original hardware to my heart's content.

On my end, in order to even think about buying a new console, there needs to be a star-studded launch lineup, and an investment in double-A games over triple A, and even small indies with exclusivity deals. Specs aren't a terrain of meaningful innovation anymore, so we need something easy to develop for and with good and interesting games with fresh ideas that you can't play in your computer. And not aiming for the highesr specs means not inflating the prices overmuch.

I think, in order to attract the players, you must first attract developers, and not only the good ones.

So basically Sony needs to make the Wii is what I think I'm saying here.

I have every other console, so it would have to be cheaper than the PS5 and backwards compatable with all previous consoles in order to get me interested, otherwise I'll just stick with what I have.
