Earlier this year I decided to start a run of Pokémon Fire Red, but with a twist: the RetroAchievements. Everything was going smoothly until I decided to go for a specific achievement, defeating the Elite 4 and the Champion for the first time using only one Pokémon.

Since I had already beaten all the gyms, I thought, “my Pokémon are too weak for this, I’ll farm a Lucky Egg from a Chansey to level up faster.” Sounded like a good idea. Sounded.

Long story short: weeks fighting Chansey hoping for a Lucky Egg that never dropped. Weeks. Those repetitive battles turned into a test of patience even a monk would struggle with. Eventually I just quit. Closed the emulator and abandoned the game for months, like someone who realizes they’re arguing with fate.

Some time later, I came back with a different mindset. Started a new run using only Charmander, no overthinking, no impossible drops, just accepting things as they are. In four days I beat the whole game calmly, no fast forward, no drama. It was surprisingly fun.

Since then, I haven’t touched Pokémon in months, but in a peaceful way, like I closed a chapter. I had never finished a run using only one Pokémon before, and honestly, it was worth more than a thousand Lucky Eggs.

Dragon Age Origins - when I met the in-game DLC Salesman, I quit the game and never played it again

I was getting bodied on For Glory in Smash 4 and at a certain point I violently dropped my controller onto the ground, I did NOT throw it, but I realized that it might happen soon, so I called it a day and my cute Sm4sh GCN controller is still around to this day.

I don't know if this is a wise rage quit, but I cannot play souls-likes to save my life (Unless it's elden ring because it's an open world game).

Persona 4 - I died from an overpowered enemy that Teddy apparently called “not very strong at all” in the first dungeon. Never played the game again ever since.

Also you “rage quitting” Pokémon because of Chansey is kinda funny. I bet it’s smiling face only made things worse for you. As if it was mocking you.

I liked the game, but FIGHT KNIGHT's fire and ice dungeon was so fucking annoying and confusing to navigate. After being stuck in that place for HOURS I gave up after the third game over. I'm still sad about that, but the random encounters weren't helping e.e

Even if I liked the aesthetics from Divine Dynamo Flamefrit, the game really tested my patience after a while, and the final boss made my drop the game after I lost to it four times.

But the one moment I actually rage quitted the game HARD was with Iconoclasts, I got tired of that game but still tried to finish it, but during a boss fight that needed some level of stealth I just said "Fuck this", and never looked back e.e

Man, that cursed pink ball just kept smiling at me. Always watching, always mocking… and always escaping on the third shake of the Pokéball. At that point it felt personal.

Dragon's Dogma 2. I was about 40 hours in, not loving it, but charmed by it all the same. As time wore on, the seemingly unfinished quest mechanics and repetitive combat started to wear on my nerves. I stuck it out for the secret classes only to discover that they were clunky, weak, and did not feel anywhere near as good to use as the other classes. Got so fed up with it that, when I got ganked by a group of high-level goblins, I raged, then realized that was my sign to throw in the towel. So much potential swarmed by an overwhelming amount of clunk.

after getting permanently banned for toxicity and breaking my mouse into pieces i realised i should probably never play league of legends again
